The worst thing about watching rap become a caricature of itself is when people like YN that have been in the game long enough to know better are hyping up bullshit like this instead of artists with real talent. Its serious how deep YN has this guy’s dick down his throat. At least post some other white people so your not such an obvious industry whore. You must love getting your duodenum ethered. For those of us who remember hip hop back in the day, we used to be able to pick up a Source Magazine or Rap Pages and there were on point reviews of rap records. The reviews were objective and actually addressed the quality of the music. If you made a bad record, you got dissed. Reviewers valued creativity, good lyrics, and good production. This was part of the reason for the golden age of rap, and it keep the art form on its toes and honest.
With the failure of rap journalism, the standards disappeared and this was one of the big reasons rap has become a joke. For those of us that can remember when rap was real, interesting, creative music, seeing this shit is a big insult. And it looks even worse coming from editors who should know better but still pump this crap up because that’s what’s selling.
Shameful.
