I’m not in a position to figure out what was goin on in their relationship. But, I am divorced and the way that these sexually-biased judges award ridiculous pre-trial awards is crazy as hell!!

I’m sure that they live a nice lifestyle, but $44k a month pre-trial, plus legal expenses…c’mon. What the hell does she need with $44k a month??!! Sure, she and the baby should get money, healthcare, and shouldn’t be on SEction8. But during a split, both of them have to live and eat (and the baby too..) But..DAMNED REGARDLESS OF HOW RICH OR FAMOUS..how much are pampers?? formula?? baby food?? and a babycrib with mobiles??. In alot of cases, the guy is the one walking and has to start all over again. I think the system is making it easy for opportunitistic women (not saying that Kelis is such)..while the guy has to Go Directly back to the Get-Go. Hell..it’s easier just to be a non-committal dawg, without a heart..that way you can just hit the escape-pod when your chick’s fangs & attitude issues start to come out, without being jacked…why do you think there are so many unhappy and unfaithful couples…D-I-V-O-R-C-E is fierce.

It’s a shame, but the fact of the matter is …in Black America, alot of us are products of single-headed maternal households and dysfuntion. I believe that there needs to be some real education on relationship, marriage and parenting…(totally unrelated, but there is just too much of the ..”i don’t need a man” mentality, then just add the jealous girlfriends that don’t have a man, and the bitter moms and aunts that sabotage everything..just so that can say…see, I told u so”. But, regardless..the Black Man will be the blame in 8 out 10…but no one knows whether that woman was providing that man with her best, behind those closed doors of that home.

obviously they’ve been having problems for a while and they just tried to hold out for a little while longer. Divorce never just “happens” especially after one or two blowups. Its sad that a child is involved but you should never be in something that leaves you unhappy. I wish the best for them both!
