With rumors swirling around Jay’s Def Jam contract buyout, Hov exclusively spoke to Rap Radar to confirm the speculation.
Jay-Z: I can honestly say, working with Doug Morris and LA Reid has been a unique and fulfilling experience and I respect them immensely. I’ve been in the family for almost my entire career.
Doug and I spoke directly and had one of the most unique “negotiations” ever. Doug won the toss but, we both won in the end.
I thank him for allowing me to be a completely independent artist. Not every artist can say they own or are given the opportunity to own all of their music.
YN: What is this coin toss about?

I would like to make this breif, I was attracted and proud of one of the most prominent stars in this Country. Yes,his name is Jay Z(Shaunn Carter). Unfortunalty, certain things that have happend within this past year, that have made me come to the realazation that some Big Time Celebraties are like under cover thieves!!. They have this suttle, sometimes mean swagger about themselves, that can blow your mind away, literally. I had a close encounter with a Big Time Celebraty, a bad encounter that is,and now this star has yet to try to make any arrangements or come foward about his/her mistakes!!!! (The nerve of some people). What is the meaning of this?,and just think we look up to these people, we spend our hard earned money on thier items, so they can keep thier star status. The every day hard working people,that’s right,the no-body’s. This man/woman has made my my life a living hell. Well,atleast 75% of time,just within this past year and I thought very highly of this person. There are so many different faces we all carry, sometimes some people have so many, they have become well aware as to when and what face to use!. The celebraties that we see on T.V are not real, they represent something that we all would like to have, money, power, and fame!. The secret’s that some of these stars have,the private lives that they have to keep and some things that they experince that no one is even aware about. I know for a fact that one day I will get the kind of responce, or an apology that I am owed, it’s only fair, right!. I don’t want this Country to be so caught up into these celebraties that we as our indivials can not become our own under cover thieves.

I finally have realized that there are some people that can play the game very well, including myself, but I do not like to cheat,Cheaters are for loosers. I was cheated out of a third of my life, not knowing how the out come was going to be , unfortuanalty there were certains people that I was playing the game with that new the outcome ahead of time( WOW!). All I can say, after all this time, is I am waiting for some celebraties( including Jay Z), to try to focus more on becoming or staying a positive role model in the community. I will never understand why. . . but I do understand that some people are just good at what they do, no matter how they go about getting the job done!.
