As YN stated, last night was the taping of VH1′s Hip-Hop Honors at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in NY. This year, Def Jam was honored for its 25 years of operation. Before the ceremony, I caught DMX on the red carpet. He is often credited for changing—or as Jay-Z puts it, “DMXing the game” with his 1998 debut album It’s Dark And Hell Is Hot. Briefly, X speaks on how he intended on shaking things up.

Yo DMX will always be among best rapper alive for what he did from 1998-2002. Dude was the most heartfelt and skilled rapper out there with a crew full of all-stars that still run the rap game AND production game.
