I have always loved Nas’s music. I have always hated Nas’s interviews.

people need to give Nas a break…dude had probably one of the worst years in his personal life & is trying to maintain & keep it together yet people have the nerve to bash him about being on songs…theres more important things than a guest feature…I mean as a fan I would LOVE to have heard him on those songs, but as a human I’m not going to sit here & diss someone who is going through a nasty public divorce in the middle of the birth of his kid because he didn’t do some verses for other people’s albums.

Empire State Of Mind is already a classic record. And it wouldve been ill if Nas was a part of that. OB4CL 2 is incredible, and again, Nas couldve been a part of that too
Why help others maintain their brand when there are more important things to focus on? Who knows what label politics were going on behind the scenes as well? Dude has other bosses besides Mrs Jones and The State of California.

Niggas callin songs and albums “classics” so fast now. “Empire State of Mind” is a vanilla……it is no where close to “NY State of Mind”. ESM sounds cheesy…real talk; NYSM is one of the best hip-hop tracks period. BP3 is a decent album but as a whole, it is not a “classic” album. But, try telling this to Jigga stans (I love Jay too but damn…throwaway tracks:VvM, Reminder, Off That, Intro and even ESM in my opinion).

@ B-Dot, it would been pretty cool to get Nas to jump on that Alicia/Jay track…I will say this though: If he ever did that record, it would have NEVER have gotten the push it has now. Course this is all a moot point cause I dont think Jay thought of putting Nas on the record to begin with
And as far as Raekwon goes. If he was so desperate to get Nas on the record, why didn’t he just press about it while they were on tour at Rock the Bells this summer, instead of going to MTV and Forbez DVD talking about “Oh you promised, you promised” ?
He certainly had time to corner Joe Budden and give him a black eye, why not corner Nas or Green Lantern, slip a recording session on one of the tour buses and be over?
I think people need to remember Rae is not the most organized brother either. It did take him years to put this project together, and that’s not a compliment to his effort.
