For his own Shade 45 channel’s five-year anniversary, Marshall Mathers has agreed to do a couple of sitdowns. On Sat Oct. 3 at 3 pm EST, he talks about DJ Hero (Oct. 27), his New Orleans concert (Oct. 30), and his new album with DJ Whoo Kid. On Tues Oct 6 at 9pm EST, he’ll touch on the same topics with DJ Tony Touch. Hopefully “Jason From Miami” doesn’t call in.

Raekwon Says Not So Fast On Group LP

Tuesday, September 29 2009 11:26 PM EST | Posted by: YN | Posted in: Blog, Focus

The Chef clarifies that the joint LP deal with Ghost and Meth ain’t done. See, they’re both signed to Def Jam but he’s indy and would love for the treacherous three to own the final product. Still, he recognizes that the fans come first so as long as the paperwork’s right, Shallah’s on board. The only question I’m left with is what the fuck is up with this video’s distracting background music. SMH. I don’t wanna give Gasface, The Gasface but c’mon fellas.

Diddy Explains New Interscope Deal

“I was at a point where I felt like I needed a fresh start like A-Rod going to the Yankees.”

Combs is still celebrating his latest record company powermove so he rang up AHH and told them how he escaped Lyor Cohen’s clutches.

“I had started some previous business relationships with Jimmy Iovine. We had a great chemistry with each other. When I sat down with Julie [Greenwald, Atlantic COO] and told them that I had an interest to go sign with Jimmy and they didn’t make it rough for me. Lyor [Cohen, WMG Chairman] and Julie were nice enough to let me get my [Bad Boy] name. I was able to take the name over to Interscope and to still in stay in business with them. I am not abandoning any of my artists over there, I still have that imprint. But all my future recordings, including my recording contract, that will be at Interscope Records.”

According to Combs, the new Bad Boy label with Interscope will operate like a small boutique label, with an emphasis on signing unique talent.

“We are going to take our time with the amount of acts that we sign,” Combs stated, adding that the label will cater to “superstars.” We want to find those very unique artists. We want to build something very special that’s not already out there.”

So Cassie’s stuck at WMG and Puff’s lookin’ for fresh faces. No, that doesn’t mean you Ma$e.

Truthfully: I don’t know much about this Gudda guy. But this two-part freestyle features Young Money boss, Lil Wayne so I say it’s worth a listen. Pardon the autotune, it’s a lyrical exercise. Ha!

Whoa, is that a cell or a cordless? Either way, Suge Knight’s on the other end and Pac dissuades him from bringing a 12-year-old to Vegas. Sin City’s a whole ‘nother playground.

Best Ghostface Interview That You’ve Seen Thus Far

Tuesday, September 29 2009 5:42 PM EST | Posted by: YN | Posted in: Blog, Focus

It ain’t hard to tell, Ghostface has been on his super-promo grind in support of Wizard of Poetry (in stores today!). But this interview feels more like a real convo then someone peddling their latest product. Nuff respect to the folks at 247HH. In the clip above, Ghost drops an incredible gem when the subject of relevancy comes up.

“I’m scared to be called a wack muthafucka. I’m afraid of that. I ask God, Please don’t let me lose my flow. I seen it happen to the best. And it’s not a good look. It’s like it just left. That’s one of the scariest things B when you can just start sounding old school now. Then you become old school.”

After the jump, he delves into ODB’s sorted sexual exploits and dissects my favorite verse he ever wrote from Wu-Tang’s “Impossible.” Spotted by PDS and I wanna thank ‘em for that. Ha!

It’s not as bad as it sounds. Here Starks explains to Hot 97′s Angie Martinez how he had to resolve some family business. Hey, I can relate. YN keeps his lawyer on speed dial. Ha!
