The record company DOES have to pay the estate of Michael Joseph Jackson which are his mother, his 3 kids and a few designated children’s charities. So if you are a true fan — buy his albums, go see This Is It, buy his autobiography when it is re-released and buy The Michael Jackson Opus (all of which are authorized by his estate and benefit his kids, etc.)
