Answer: No. Apparently daddy’s little girl is upset that she wasn’t included in Def Jam’s Hip-Hop Honors ceremony last Tuesday. For those born under the Clinton Administration, Nikki D was the label’s first female artist.

    *yaaaaaawn….*

  2. Doitall says:

No doubt, but then again they aint represent mad people on the show. Daddy’s little girl was ill, but I aint hear nothing after that. Now EPMD not getting love and LL a no show? THATS a damn shame

  3. Doitall says:

wait..did she just say flat leaver? lol

  4. nastradamus says:

Def Jam signed like a million folks in the last 25 years…Some of these one-hit wonders need to chill. If anyone should complain, its Nice N Smooth, 3rd Bass or even Nas…Shiiiit- Sisqo may even have a stronger case (in terms of having a run on Def Jam)

  5. J.Boogie says:

they could have given her a shout out…that whole show was suspect..Big Ups to Nikki D

  6. iCandy says:

I *hate* to hear rappers who have fallen off whine about no recognition. If you are forgotten.. BLAME YOURSELF!!!!!

Write better songs. EVERY artist on the Hip Hop Honours deserved the recognition ten-fold. ALL of them had a “run” not just one hit..

  7. iCandy says:

    Oh…. magawd.. she’s *still* talkling..

this girl is a hypocrite and is mad entertaining.

first she just wanted an invite, then she wants to perform
now, Def Jam is erasing her history but yet they’ve been feeding/clothing her ass since she “dropped them”
Then she doesn’t care about the show, but she’s glad it was awful (it wasn’t)

Somebody give her a book deal so she can STFU!

  8. iCandy says:

J.Boogie yes, at most they should have invited her and shown a quick shot of her or let her introduce Foxy. But any performance would have just been a bathroom-break/channel-surfing/twitter break anyway.. nobody knows her sh*t not unless you were a fan or if you study hip hop at school or something lol

She’s comical thinkign VH1 has that much power over hip hop anyway.. no they don’t they have 1 hour to do something to keep afloat in these hard times.. at least they do the little they do.. they’re not God’s and they’re Hip Hop curators either. If the blogs can barely get it together why do we expect more from a “corporation” when single, individual Hip Hop Heads can’t really present this shit properly???? Aside from NahRight blog and SOHH there is no real love for Hip Hop Past, present or future.

  9. Just Visiting says:

All I’m sayin is I was born under the Regan administration and I still don’t know who she is.

  10. Nastradamus is right: Nikki’s my girl and she’s not wrong when she says that she is a part of Def Jam’s history. But expecting to perform at Hip Hop Honors based on her creative accomplishments (as much as I liked her two big songs, personally) and then making this video complaining about it is kind of crazy. I do agree with her that it’s f-cked up that she wasn’t even invited to the show though! WTF??

Nik D was definitely around the logo for many years. She’s even featured on an interlude on 1 of my favorite Def Jam albums of all time, Muddy Waters. But let’s be clear. She was not the 1st female signed to Def Jam. She was the 1st female rapper. No one cares about this I’m sure, but Allyson Williams, an r&b singer, was the 1st female signed to the logo. Then, came the 1st female rapper, Nikki D. This is only for the sake of historical accuracy but honestly, in the grand scheme, probably is less than important much like this hilariously sensitive vlog.
