Update: Shyne Will Be Deported

shyne 2

Miss Info got the scoop from Angie Martinez, a good friend of Po’s who visited him often in prison, and it looks he will indeed be sent back to Belize.

Shyne’s team is fighting to stay in the US where his mother and his grandmother live and where they raised him….but it seems like he’s going to have to continue the fight from Belize. Shyne will be released from Immigration custody but will then be deported to Belize soon. He has Harvard Professor Charles Ogletree advocating on his behalf in concert with his legal team. They’re still urging fans to reach out to Governor Patterson’s office to petition for Shyne’s pardon (click here for Paterson’s email and his address) but deportation is imminent.

And what about Shyne’s mental state? Angie says “Shyne is one of the strongest people I know and he’s handling this situation just as I’d expect him to. It must be frustrating for all of his friends and family; he served his time, and keeps getting all these different dates and conflicting information. But he’s a soldier, he’s dealing with it.”

A damn shame.

^ going through the same exact shit. Not going to front, I knew this was going to happen though. Pretty fucked up. Hope he stays strong. He’ll be back.

You know who else should be an advocate on Shyne’ behalf? The woman that got shot in the face and was beefing about Shyne’s business dealings when he got the deal with Def Jam and released that album, of course with concerns that he was violating Son of Sam laws and whatnot. If all of the victims of that night who have civil suits against Shyne want to see any sort of money, they should put him in a position to make money and stay in the US. For all young people who frequent this blog in high school or in the beginning stages of college, we need more lawyers and politicians who understand the plight of some of our hip hop stars. This may be a silver lining to this. Going back to Belize may give Shyne a chance to reconcile with his father which is something money or fame cannot buy.

That’s fuckin gay. I don’t get it. EVERY rapper that went to jail in the past few years on either life or whatever got out, made more records, etc. This nigga Shyne actually does ALL OF HIS TIME LIKE A REAL MUTHAPHUCKIN G, and he gets deported to Belize???? That’s bullshit!

  10. iCandy says:

Puffy knew this.. I’m sure of it.

My thoughts are with the victims.. we’ve got to not support this sort of egrigious lapse in judgement. I have no pity for his sentence or what he had to go through because had that been my face.. I’d be bitter as fuck.

Anyway. as far as Hip Hop.. yes, it’s a damn shame.. but at least he still has his pretty face to help sell records from Brazil. He’s not going to the electric chair.. let’s keep shit in persepective.

  11. mmkayy says:

  12. Lil' Nello says:
