I'm down for good music for a good cause but this ain't the case. The homie Sha from MTV hit me with a question yesterday I dreaded goin' on the record about: How do I feel about hip-hop artists being included in the "We Are The World" remake? Geez, I guess we've come long way since 1985. I don't think you could do it any other way than include our culture which is the pulse of pop culture. But instead of feeling any type of validation, I feel disgust. Seriously, a complete remake of the original song? Celine Dion gettin' her Cyndi Lauper on? Lil Wayne as Bob Dylan? Fuck outta here. Didn't I see Will.I.Am in the flicks? They could gave that nigga an hour plus a pen and a pad and I'm sure he'd come up with something cheesy for no small fee but for free. I'm truly scared to hear what the final product is gonna sound like. Are we really gonna hear the soothing vocals of Nipsey Hussle in the final mix? Highly doubt it. Any Mention of Crack,Cocaine, and guns is in the past tense and its always a reference, look i did that, Look where I am now. And when he speaks about violence or selling crack its like I used to do that, I smartened up and know luck where i am.

The situation with Beans is tough. I beleive that neither man is wrong. Both men just were at different levels of thinking. I relate to Jay in the sense that every man is independant. It’s just way too many Jay-Z “stans” out here that feel like dude can do no wrong. This is why hip-hop is dead and why I don’t listen to rap no more. Too many “stans” who can’t think for themselves. If Beans (and many other people including non-rappers) want to experience success similar to this, they will have to think bigger than the streets. You have to leave the streets to make the money. A person should always find someway to return and help someone else. But this does not mean physically hanging out on the streets. This whole beef is rooted in the old “crab in the bucket” mentality.
