yo, Em is a beast. There’s no doubt about it but until the day Nas is dead and gone, Nas is the best MC living. Em can without a doubt rhyme his ass off but PERSONALLY, and this is just my opinion, he’s not saying much to me that means anything significant. That’s no knock on him, I’m just saying that Nas gives me shit I can live with and live by. His music sticks to my ribs like no one elses cuz its realer (i know that’s not a real word). I think that because guys like Nas and Andre 3000 take so long to drop albums or choose not to live in the spotlight (truth be told, Em doesn’t like the spotlight either) that people forget or leave them out of certain discussions but in MY opinion Nas and Andre 3000 will always be steps ahead of Em for their content alone if nothing else. Again, Em can rhyme like crazy but Nas and 3000 do it for niggas like me.
Meaning doesn’t equate to lyricism and wordplay whatsoever.
Eminem, is better than Nas Wordplay wise, regardless if his songs doesn’t have any meaning or not.

damn…yea, i fucks with what you said. definitely. truth be told, em bends words and syllables and says the wackiest, craziest, off kilt shit ever….but content wise, in the midst of flow, lyrics, delivery, etc…Nas and 3 Stacks got it.
one thing i don’t get is how we, in the hip hop community, can really shit on Nas. sure he’s had his missteps, artistically, but every artist has (except Andre 3000 that is, lol…no wackness in his catalog), but UNTITLED is the album i wanted to speak on breifly. content wise, to the community hip hop came out of, and has by far the most influence on, that joint right there should have been heralded by us. …i guess it just shows you where we are as a people.
furthermore, i think lupe should get a stamp for having released The Cool, which is 100% positivity, and conceptually shitting on all of rap pretty much. lupe is the king of concept. every song on dudes albums are about wide ranging subject matter. it didn’t go platinum, but it went Gold. and given the content, Lupe is like the first strictly positive MC to break into the mainstream. he’s proof that you can be totally responsible with the mic and still make bangers, be a wordplay wizard, and have niggas like Jeezy, TI, etc who ain’t even on the shit you on be some of your biggest fans.
