i don’t think anybody here could agree tom delonge is that amazing of a…. well, anything. he sucks at guitar and can’t sing, but he can produce some of the best shows and music you will ever hear in your life. you’re placing skill above good song-writing. Travis isn’t an amazing drummer just because he’s incredibly skilled, he’s a good drummer because of his writing and sound. you could be the “best” drummer in the world, but if you can’t sympathize with other artists for shit, you suck. you lose the true emotion of music, dude. it’s the emotion that you see when travis is throwing his body around playing those beats, and it’s the emotion that makes him great.

Good songwriting is more important than skill.
Period.

Travis not a genius – he is an above-average punk drummer that writes simple as fuck remixes for rap songs and gets loads of street cred for it (which is obviously what he wants). He is smart for doing it and getting money and exposure for it, but what he does here is NOT HARD. Just because he hits his drums hard doesn’t make him good.

I’m not hating on Travis – this remix is better than the original, and when he did Dope Boys with The Game it was fun too…but still not amazing.

Also, the only white guy pushing hip hop? Aesop Rock and El-P are two of the best MCs/producers in the game.
