Cudder tells MTV, that he’s already completed five tracks on his next album. Also, he has collaborations with Snoop, Pharrell and Jim Jonsin. Pretty anxious to see what Scotty has to offer this time around.

Trying to get the right amount of hit records on this. It’s gonna be the complete opposite of what Man on the Moon was. Man on the Moon was so serious. This one is gonna be more playful and fun. It’s about having a good time.”

  12. mikedreamsmusic says:

The point is…expansion and innovation IS hip hop. Hip Hop is not just one thing anymore and y’all old heads will have get over it. Either move with the times or fall back. I completely respect hip hop all the way across the spectrum, from the 80s, 90s and today…but I think it’s wack when people continue to hate on new artists that are doing newer things.

Look at it like this. Old Hip Hop Head hatred to the new generation in the present day is just like when hip hop was FIRST formed in the late 70s, early 80s and other musicians said “What is that garbage? That ain’t music”. It’s the same type of ignorance and hatred that fuels this argument.

  13. mikedreamsmusic says:

Plus, your above statement is contradictory CHAMGOD3000

You said F*ck Rap, Hip Hop 4 Life

Though I’ve always hated people who act like it’s two different things (Hip Hop is the culture and rapping it what you do as a part of the hip hop culture, whether you are Common or Soulja Boy. The argument wouldn’t be about if it’s hip hop or rap, it would be about if your lyrical content had more substance or not. People seem to get that misconscrewed.)

But since you think in that way, I’ll entertain that idea just to prove you incorrect.

People barely even classify Kid Cudi as “rap” because he doesn’t really rap much, but he does embody a certain part of the hip hop culture. Once people start to realize that hip hop is not just one thing, they’ll understand. Also, all this talk about fashion not being hip hop? Where have you been at, because has been a part of hip hop forever (Points to RUN DMC’s My Adidas and a countless number of other examples)

One late note: Go look at the 80s hip hop artists…shoot, just turn on “Krush Groove”. What do you see? Colorful clothes, tight pants and playful music. So when has that NOT been hip hop?
