I don’t doubt Rakim’s ability…even nowadays (see Classic with him, Kanye, Nas, and KRS), but he needs better production. If he could get a Premier beat or two, then maybe get some from Black Milk, Marco Polo, maybe even Just Blaze, there’s no doubt in my mind that he could release some hot shit.
Then again, who knows if any of that’s even possible, or if he’s really in it to win it anymore.

Rakim looked like a rookie on his own song, you gotta look at it like this it’s like comparing a Apple Macintosh from 1989 to a 2010 MacBook Pro, it may have paved the way but it’s still obsolete. Rakim has been pass his prime for over a decade now.
