im sorry but its his music he has a right to make every last dollar off of his music. dont matter how much he has. you people need to bust your ass toward something and see how it feels to be robbed. I’m wealthy by working like twelve plus hours a day and if somebody stole what i worked so hard to get id be pissed too. lupe used to live off of bologna sandwiches and I did too. to get somewhere and still go through this kind of shit sucks……… america is capitalistic dont forget that………….. he may look rich but you don’t know his personal life. its simple as that

Huge fan of lupe, but he’s in no need of money. Not to say he should work for free, but I don’t think that he’s the guy who should be worried about a leaked track, maybe an up and coming indie artist could make this claim but a mainstream grammy nominated artist? The blog post contradicts a lot of what he appears to stand for in his music. I always thought Lupe would rather have people hear his music than making sure he gets every last buck out of Lazers.

It’s ironic that he signed it “friend of the people.”

i called him valuable. valuable. i never said central figure.

he’s valuable because he brings balance. good balance. lyrically, subject matter wise, topics, message, influence on shit like fashion, etc and the culture as a whole.

he’s mainstream like wanker man said. for those exact reasons. Superstar was #1 on 106 & Park for atleast a week n a half. he has two grammys. he went gold selling 100% positive, message driven music with minimal profanity and no club/party anthems. with no assistance from the commercial machine. (t-pain, the dream, lil wayne, etc)…u know, the usual suspects. and he did it with 90% in house (Soundtrakk) production. on his very own roc-a-fella: 1st&15th Productions

^no underground nigga is doing anything like that. and T.I. and Jeezy were on the remix to Superstar. he’s mainstream. he just isn’t art compromisingly commercial.
