Kanye West’s 2010 Declaration

Yesterday, Kanye wiped the slate clean for two thousand and ten on his blog. Good thing Ye resorted to the pen instead of the mic to get his point across.

    LOL

Somebody in the crowd told him to shut the fuck up.

    Happens around 1:30-1:35

  2. Drucifer says:

Never liked this guy, probably never will…….But, outside of his little temper tantrums, I think he’s a good look for hip hop, his musics harmless type stuff you could play at your grandma’s house and not offend her with it……..I prefer my shit hardcore, but West gets respect

  3. Dirty Peddalz says:

Wow! Kanye you’re so amazing. I mean, I always knew you could sing, but singing off the top of the dome is your calling. You need to take off your vanetian glasses if you see yourself progressing stylistically as an artist. To compare yourself to Kobe, Maya Angelou, Gill Scott Herron and Nina Simone isn’t even a bad joke. It’s not even remotely funny. At least the afore mentioned are actually responsible for their athletic/artistic contributions. How many people are responsible for your rhymes, and beats? It kills me when artists see themselves as G.O.A.T., but don’t actually produce their own product. Your true arc as an artist goes from interesting and introspective, to egotistical, self aggrandizing and boring. Get a fucking grip Kanye Quest/Fest/Cudi/Sean, and step your pen game up. It shouldn’t be that hard your highness. Mr. West has left the building.

  4. ayo says:

so does this mean no more singing

  5. ok really says:

    Kanye needs to SHUT UP!

  6. Joe Blow says:

Is the Vh1 album still dropping on tuesday ?

  7. B.Dot says:

    ^
    Ha. Forgot all about that

  8. jdot says:

    Smh@ dirty peddalz.

Talk about completely misinterpreting a message. That shit went over your head, lil homie.

  9. Kofi says:

    @Dirty Peddalz

Wow I must not have been paying attention during the NBA playoffs because I could have sworn I saw a hole team of niggas help Kobe get those rings. And I’m sure Gill Scott Herron would even be surprised to hear that he created all that great art by himself….so much for his long time collaborators Brian Jackson and Ron Holloway. I guess Nina Simone wrote an produced all those great albums by herself without any help from the likes of Duke Ellington or any of the other people listed in the album notes.

No great artist and none of the people Ye talked about did anything by them selfs. I don’t recall Kanye ever saying he did all the work himself in fact he often goes out of his way to give credit to the people he has collaborated with in the past. No I.D., Jon Brian, Rhymfest, Consequence ect are always given full credit because unlike most artist Ye realizes there is no shame in making great music in a collaborative effort.

  10. Hova says:

this nigga is on that Hawaii dust

  11. Hova says:

Consequence and GLC ghostwrite for Ye

  12. yaboitone says:

^ OFFICIALLY the best burn of 2010! lmao.
@Kofi gets a pass the first time i don’t agree with him/her now. lol.

  13. Kofi says:

    @Hova

*Sigh* If your name appears in the album credits it’s not “ghostwriting” it’s just writing. Am I the only one who actually reads album credits?

  14. FoSHO says:

    Niggas don’t read no more
    they twit

  15. Nathaniel says:

i hope these means he’s going to get off all that commercial ass rhyming and get BACK true life shit. he doesn’t need to digress to College Dropout, but he had much more to say back then on graduation. self aggrandizement, braggadocio, models, brands, and lil punchlines is all the nigga has been rapping about lately. aside from 808’s which actually had substance and an artistic approach/unique sound…AND came from a truly introspective place, the “rapper” ye has been getting better as rhyming, but saying much less. blah…

get back on your job ye, you ARE capable nigga. the media and fame has been driving this nigga nuts though. seek refuge in Allah…real talk.

  16. JC says:

    ^co-sign

Plus the Artistic World needs a little Ye, whenever he makes a new album its sure to be the contender for album of the year. nough’ said

  17. Nathaniel says:

    just watched that video…

yep, the media and fame is awakening this nigga….he almost got lost in it, but i think he may come out stronger. hopefully. he said a lot of real shit in that awkward ass melody he was singing. haha, he ain’t never been a vocalist, but i can appreciate the truth.

  18. Mike says:

    @Drucifer. I agree on everything u said

  19. Blakout615 says:

I neva had a problem with Ye. Not the biggest fan of his music but can appreciate somebody who is very passioniate about the ‘art’ they create. If we had more artist like that,it wudnt be as many one hit wonders out there.

  20. mac DIESEL says:

    @ Kanye West

KEEP DOIN’ YA THING NIGGA!!!! KEEP PUTTIN’ OUT THEM ILL BEATS NIGGA!!!! I KNOW U A PRODUCER, BUT STEP UP YA RAP SKILLS!!!! U SOUND PREDICTABLE N REDUNDANT!!!! LISTEN TO YA FIRST TWO ALBUMS TO GET THAT MOTIVATION BACK NIGGA!!!!

    DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!!!

  21. Londonboy123 says:

As an artist i have no problems wiv kanye, in fact i like most of his albums musically, however the guy is a dick as a person. Who does he fink he’s foolin wiv that fake political bollocks?
I’m sorry but i dont see how he finks he’s got somethin real to say politically, even college dropout was half arsed politically
Kanye West when looking at political rap look for pubic enemy…

  22. This is good news. Seems as though some are missing the point of what was written by Kanye. He’s not grandstanding. He’s making a statement about his intentions concerning content in the future. I’m so glad to hear this. Whatever he believes, it’s good to see that he has the people on his mind again. Too much flossing… Sam Rasting (sp).

If he intends to put half of the conviction into his rhymes as Niki Giovanni, Maya Angelou, and Gil Scott Heron, he’s set to change the game yet again.

I’m with the Nathaniel. I’m just glad he’s home. That whole fame thing was consuming him from the inside out. Just glad he survived it.

  23. B.Dot says:

Dont know bout y’all, but this clip is fuckin classic. It sounds like me when i try to rap drunk.

  24. ANT619HONY says:

does any one sill like this fagboy????

  25. Yeah, this video is not good bizz. Wonder if Ye was on that “sippy sippy”.

  26. Ty says:

I don’t know why but Ye just seems so lost to me . This sounds like his equivalent of “drunk dialing” . Just letting everything spill out sloppily all over the floor . From a musical perspective this is so amateurish and wack sounding. From a human perspective , I can see he’s conflicted and hurting and I feel for him .

He might wanna get his own mind right first before he tries to enlighten us all though .

From a hip hop perspective , Ye is my early pick for album of the year in 2010 (fan consensus, not necessarily awards) . I think he’s poised to take over the number one spot in the game IF he can stay sane .

  27. fuck kanye west says:

so this nigga claims hes a poet, modern day pac and sombody who make music thats gonna stand da test of time…he claims he talk about whats happening in culture…hmmm…lets see what his verses have to say about that……
(btw can somebody please tell me what the fuck jeezy and this nigga was talkin bout on put on?, the hook talkin bout one thing then kanye jump on the track talkin bunch of irrelevant nonsense)

“I feel like there’s still niggas that owe me checks
I feel like there’s still bitches that owe me sex
I feel like this but niggas don’t know the stress
I lost the only girl in the world that know me best
I got the money and the fame and that don’t mean shit
I got the Jesus on a chain, man that don’t mean shit
Cause when the Jesus pieces can’t bring me peace
So I need just at least of one of Russell’s nieces
    On…I let my nightmares go
I put on for everybody that I knew from the go
I know dese hoes that was frontin when they knew we was broke
They say damn, Yeezy Yeezy, you don’t know us no more
You got that big fame homie, and you just changed on me
You can ask big homie, man the top so lonely III….
    So lonely III….
Let me see what we have tonight (what we have tonight)
I’m high as a satellite (satellite)
I see those flashin lights (flashin lights)
    Cause every night (every night)
    I put on”

no further comment…i rest my case….
for furthur proof see the next verse….

    Let’s get lost tonight
You could be my black Kate Moss tonight
Play secretary, I’m the boss tonight
And you don’t give a fuck what they all say right?
Awesome, the Christian and Christian Dior
Damn, they don’t make ‘em like this anymore
I ask ’cause I’m not sure
Do anybody make real shit anymore?
Bow in the presence of greatness
’cause right now thou has forsaken us
You should be honored by my lateness
That I would even show up to this fake shit
So go ahead go nuts go ape shit
Especially in my pastel on my bape shit
Act like you can’t tell who made this
New gospel homey, take six, and take this, haters

  28. Sin says:

Smh at all you fools. Yes it’s a sin to kall a man a fool and I say that to say this…FOOLS.
Yes ignorance is bliss but when it’s in ur face dnt brush it off but WAKE UP.
The man basically pointed out that those with the powers that be are brainwashing the citizens with it’s biased media, forced music, controlled domestic “terrorism” etc.
    To cite:
“TO ACCURATELY REPRESENT WHAT IS HAPPENING NOW.”
“SO WHEN THE POWERS THAT BE TRY TO REWRITE HISTORY”
“THOSE WHO MASQUERADE AS TRUTH TELLERS AND OBJECTIVE FACT GIVERS…EVERYTHING THAT IS PROJECTED HAS AN AGENDA OF BRAINWASHING US”
“LET US LOOK PAST HEADLINES AND DEAL WITH A BIT OF TRUTH IN THIS NEW DECADE”
    and finally
“WE DONT HAVE TO BELIEVE EVERYTHING ANYMORE”

Who better than one of the many that “sold their soul” to speak on it. Not many from the other side do.
I hope this spark in one of you niggas or hoes, the urge to search.
It’s a new decade wake up. Shit bouta be hectic in this wartime millenium. U seen how they tried to play us with the plane on Christmas.
U mean to tell me yall let a grimey lookin African on an international flight to America with no passport and no id and WE have to live in stress and privacy invasion.
Wake up niggas. You have no human rights. It’s a new decade and they say fuck the constitution. Who’s winning?
    H’z

  29. CinderBlock says:

    @fuck kanye west

  31. Mr. 1k says:

    @croissant w/chesse

Go read a book nigga………… seriously

  32. CLARK says:

The liberal media is bullshit, duh…

But no, you don’t get a pass for killing your wife because your an “amazing” football player.

As for MJ, the accusations are shady and there’s no evidence, so for the media to label him a pedophile is unfair. But you can’t blame people for thinking he is weird.

Don’t forget this is the same brainwashing liberal media that got Obama elected, that’s the real reason to hate them.

  33. trsone says:

i wish eddie murphy hadnt fallen off, i could totally see him doing a spot on kanye impression

  34. WhatsUpSon says:

Not all songs are meant to have a vibe of social consciousness. I don’t think the song “I Get Around” was primarily a social commentary. Nothing wrong with a mixed bag.

  35. Poet? says:

Kanye is not a rapper! A real rapper don’t make an album like 808s & Heartbreak!
    FUCK POP SHIT!!!

  36. SWAGGSTAR says:

Fuck all the haterz! Kanye west iz da shit, why people hate on kanye west so much? when they all know they have Kanye’s muzik on there IPOD. Fuck them haterz, dey jus gon hate as they download his muzik. MAKES NO DAM SENSE!!

  37. Kanye is one the best in da bizzz i like 808s & Heartbreak, it shows what hes feeling durin when his mother death and rappers are poets, kanye west just wanted to show his muzik in creative ways. FUCK All Da HATERZ.

  38. […] in December, Ye recited a new verse at the Nokia Theater, then gushed about his new tunes on his blog. If Devo’s review is accurate, it’ll take a nation of millions to hold us […]

  39. marcus says:

In a way taylor swift should thank kanye, just because what he did, put her on the map
that the way kanye west is but people out there still like him, when i comes to his music
    he’s dangerous.
