Keyshia Cole gives an update regarding her upcoming project and relationship with estranged family.
To all my friends and fans – It’s time that I clear the air. It’s not a secret that I haven’t been in contact with my mother Frankie, and my sisters Neffe and Elite and I never wanted to air out our differences to the public. While I won’t go into detail here I find it necessary to let you guys know I decided to stop communication with them because I was at a point in my life where I needed serenity and peace to move forward. Please know I love my family very much but it was time to let it go. You guys are a witness to a lot of what was happening from watching on air and online. Now that I am becoming a mom my passion for having a loving and peaceful home for my child is my #1 priority. It’s very important to both Daniel and I. My plate is very full; I have a new baby coming, we are planning our wedding and I am working in the studio on a new album that I am close to completing. The stress that my family is giving me with their constant false reports is not healthy and it’s not what I need at this time in my life. Please understand that there are only a few people that can officially confirm or deny anything that’s happening in my life and that’s me, Daniel, and my publicist, Tresa Sanders. And my girl Monica never lies.

it is what it is. i can relate. sometimes, family will do you greasier than your so-called enemies. keyshia is one the few r&b artists that i dig in this new era of ”singers”. ha! oh, yeah…go cavs!!!

I can’t stand people who bring they family biz out on front street.It goes without sayin’ you don’t choose who your family is, but why bring them into the public domain in the first place.That reality show was a bad move to begin with now she’s seekin’ justification to the media for cuttin’ them off.

Don’t fault her for bringing out her family in the public eye. To me she gave them an opportunity to eat off reality shows, radio, and etc. So she can cut them off however she wants, because she done showed her fam how to fish on their own.

First of all, I love you and your music. I’m sure the situation with your family right now may be a sensative subject that holds alot of pain, but I can assure you that you did what was best for you. With no disrepect to your family in any way, while watching your show all I could ever see time after time, every single episode, was that the selfish, loud and ungrateful personalities of your mother(especially) and sister. They seemed to constantly suffocate the calm and loving person that you seem to be and not allowing you to blossom into the person that you were trying to become. Jealousy is a horrible monster that sometimes can raise it’s ugly head even in the one’s that we hold most dear to us who should have our backs and be happy for us instead of looking for a handout. More power to you and you are in my prayers. Keep your head up and the beautiful music coming.
