Man this is not a diss. Had their album titled “Til The Casket Drops” even hit shelves yet? So in the process of recording his album, he references the Clipse who hadn’t reemerged into the public eye yet , and their album which hadn’t dropped yet and could easily have had a name change? I am waaaay too late, but I say it is a late shot at Mobb Deep. I just listened to this song again for first time in years last night. Mobb is from Harlem/Manhattan. They were considered the best duo, if not best rappers ever out of Manhattan. Jay is talking about them boosting themselves up (building towers), then Jay is the plane that brought em down, then they ran into without masks trying to rebuild (still coming at him), they they were felled (Jay basically ended them). Just my take.
