Four months ago, Jay-Z admitted that his next album would be “experimental“. And in a sit-down with MTV, Swizz says the tandem are vying for a more global sound. In fact, the producer reveals that’s he’s currently working on the intro.
“We been talking about that international vibe since the last album. But the sound changes. You got too many people trying to do too many things. They throw it off. I’m actually going out there doing the legwork, sitting there with the master composers, and we gonna pull this thing together.”

eminem’s album sales can be attributed to his ethnicity too. hip hop culture embraced jay-z for years, american pop culture ignored him and hip hop in general.
being a white emcee, (and extremely controversial….EXTREMELY) and talented…caused american pop culture to embrace eminem. = millions upon millions of suburban white kids (such as yourself) buying up eminem albums.
the man who sells to the most white youth and white young adults is not the man who we call “the best” in hip hop. thats who america pays most attention to, but thats not how we do things in this culture, joe.
newsflash: Jay-Z has NEVER been the highest selling rapper. he averages about 1.5 mill sold per album. so what is his argument in being the best ever? …if not album sales…?

its like this yo. if we break down the # and quality of records Jay-Z has attributed to black music from reasonable doubt to BP3 (and every song inbetween, guest appearance, mixtape etc etc all that shit)…he has quite an argument. go to a concert. nigga plays hit after hit after hit after hit….after hit. and album wise…song for song…the nigga has QUITE a catalog. i think we can all agree. AND in his first run, he was giving you 1 album like every 10months.

You gotta look at the sound of RD, BP1, Black Album and then compare the quality of the sound on AG, it pails in comparison. From a technical stand point though, he pieced the project together nicely but a lot of cats were squeezing their dicks a little too hard just cause he started rapping about drugs again.
The content on KC exceeds that of AG because he has done that material already and better in his earlier years.
AG is not a classic.
The Real Slim Shady and the Eminem Show are classic, too.

Em is a thoro mc as far as him doing numbers it’s coz he brings to the genre another demography that doesn’t necessarily support Hip hop per say.Urban culture relates more to jay than Em but the rebellious middle-class white kids who can afford to buy records compared to those in the hood identify with Em more.,naturally.Besides Em’s album beats for the most part border on pop& rock rhythm.I don’t hear any clubs bumpin’ Em but jay when ever i’m out.
