The only way you can sell that many copies is if you appeal to white people. You make street shit for real niggas, and no one buys that shit. Cuz we’re too ghetto. @ayooooo.- So Rappers shouldn’t make party songs anymore or their considered sell outs? That’s what MCing was based off of to begin with…Getting the party going. “How Low” sales also benefited from the fact that was a hype/fun song for women, not just white people. Women aren’t necessarily going to go spend their 1.99 on iTunes to buy a “street” or “hood” song, but they will for something to make them dance.
Furthermore. Jay-Z did songs w/Linkin Park. Did he sell out? Members of Wutang are making guest appearances in Disney movies. Did they sell out? Skills are skills, but diversifying your portfolio is good business.

I’ll admit I don’t like Luda’s new direction but as many of the other comments have said, he’s proved himself time and time again (Back For The First Time, Word of Mouf, Chicken-N-Beer, The Red Light District…) < all great albums; at this point in his career he should be able to go in whatever direction he wants.
