Too short to tell what this is, but this is why being overhyped is both good and bad. Good cause everybody is checkin’ for your debut single and project, but it’s bad cause how you gonnna live up to the hype? Especially when you’re supposed to be a double threat but can’t really sing without an effect on the mic. Also unless he’s been keepin’ a couple secret rhyme patterns and styles up his sleeve, his flow game is very predictable so far.
If the new stuff sounds too much like his mixtape or his features then he’s gonna get killed for doin’ the same ol’ same ol’ and if it’s too outta left field he’s gonna get killed for over thinking it and not giving what his fans obviously like. He’s gonna have to almost reinvent music to win at this point. If he finds a way to make a hit even through all of that then I will tip my hat to him cause he has his work cut out for him.

the song will be good. drake has a knack for making catchy music but, and this is a big but, HE CAN’T SING! have you heard dude live? he sounds HORRIBLE! he has witty punchlines and i think being light-skinned and from toronto has helped separate him from the pack. wayne & birdshit realized they could make some money off him and in some ways signing with YM is a good look for drake because all the suburban girls who love wayne will now love drake. he’s gonna sell a couple hundred thousand first week. the dickriders will call it a classic, the haters will hate, and the rest of us will have our favorite tracks, enjoy em for a few weeks and then it’s ON TO THE NEXT ONE!
