Erykah Badu Charged With Disorderly Conduct

It wasn’t a Good Friday for everyone. Since the premiere of Erykah’s video last weekend, she’s been the talk of the town. Earlier today, the AP reported that the Dallas Police department decided to charge the singer for disorderly conduct and fined $500.

  4. Jay Fingers says:

If Ida Espinosa (the lone person who lodged a complaint with the DPD) REALLY had a problem with what happened, don’t you think she would have spoken up 21 days ago when the video was filmed? I just think she’s hoping to somehow capitalize off Ms. Badu’s fame.

  5. King JuggaNott says:

I’m proud of the parents that stood and the city of Dallas.
She should’ve been ashamed of herself, as a mother of 3.
Even more ashamed to see people siding with her when she was wrong, period.

Artist (and stunts to get free promo) does not negate nor supersede decency.
Many people are being bias cause they saw a big booty, they like her. How bias!
Chic deserve more than that charge being that she knew better.

I hope she ends up serving 500 hour community service than that $500 bail.

    Hate on this.

  25. Aysha says:

I believe people are really missing the point of the video and that’s unfortunate. By no means am I saying what she did is “right”, however let’s be real. The reality of seeing nudity, profanity, crime etc. has become of an every day life with no positive message behind it. There was a message and if people look beyond the surface then perhaps one can take heed of what she was saying and showing. Should there be consequences, yes. However these consequences should be across the board. There are people walk around exhibiting “disorderly conduct” but they are punished. These comments prove exactly what she was speaking. It’s unfortunate that she has to be called out her name and be judged because of a video. People need to grow up. The ones that’s calling her “ugly”, “bitch” etc. what does that say about your character? You are no better to judge her for her “wrong doing”.

  26. Aysha says:

*I meant there are people WALKING around exhibiting “disorderly conduct but they are NOT punished.
