Malik Yusef, the pen behind Kanye West’s “Heartless”, tells HHW that Ye’s new album is 80% complete and goes on to describes it as real “raw”, “emotional”, and “reflective”. How bout them adjectives? Ha!

    yeah…

Good Ass Job is probably gonna be the best album of 2010. i can’t even imagine kanye putting out a wack album, or even a sub par one, given all the material he has to just vomit out. talk about a muse. you give true artistic geniuses a platform, and a muse like this…you can’t get nothin but greatness.

i wonder what that LASERS will sound like. some of those concert cuts he’s been doing are craaaazzzzyyyy. whew…

  9. Nathaniel says:

    oh yeah

and that Distant Relatives has been sounding beautiful lately. and can’t forget about Janelle Monae. got damn….what a yr.

  13. PITRI says:

SO ye hardly writes his own shit??

  14. yaboitone says:

OF aaaaaaaall the albums im looking forward to this year, Good Ass Job is #1 EASY.

  15. Ac@pella! says:

    @PITRI

Who knows. Maybe. Maybe not. Behind closed doors, they may bounce around ideas (no pun intended to “Barry Bonds” lol) and he may start off a verse or 2 off of somethin someone in his camp says. I’m pretty sure he writes most of his shit, but 808’s was a singing album. Maybe Malik is an expert in that dept. and Ye asked him to write it. I mean, Rhymefest DID write half of Jesus walks. Star artists can’t take all the credit. Lol.

  16. Frontrunner says:

I don’t care what Ye writes, the only hiphop artist that comes close to him in album making is Jay (and he was on a cold streak till this last one)…that includes fellow top fivers TI, Weezy, and Jeezy…Whatever makes the product dope do it…

Old School Rules out the window:
    1. Rhyme biting
    2. Beat biting
    3. Style biting
    4. Writing your own rhymes

  17. lindros says:

Hold up ye didn’t write heartless?? i don’t want to believe that

  18. sideshowRaheem says:

Ye writes some of his own stuff but also isn’t ashamed to collaborate as far as the writing goes if you give him a line that he uses in one of his songs your name will be in the writing credits. The key word is collaborate Ye has given lines to other people other people give lines to him.

  19. Trevor says:

He co-writes a lot of his music. He vibes out with artists/producers in the studio and they all contribute to the lyrics. Can’t wait for this album!!!! By far my #1 most anticipated album. GAJ. #TeamKanye

  20. Hey U says:

Good grief! This dude got on a purple head wrap, pink bow tie and lip gloss. When did men looking like men go out of style? Yall can keep that!

  21. WillieLoko says:

He wrote Heartless. Ever since his 2nd album he has had a team of amazing artist help him with production with melodies, back sound etc… Those lyrics are classic Kanye but I can see the actual hook “In the niiighhtt…” coulda been writin by some1 else
