  14. What I Said says:

    @Had2DoIt

    The Reason He’s Number One Is Because He Didn’t Have No Competition This Week .

  15. I.S.A.A.C. says:

    Congrats but yeah…. i wasn’t hoping he’d do 200k but whatever!

    If u don’t have the album get it!

    It was sold out of the Target & Best Buy where I live the first day tho…. oh well.

  16. dashing says:

    Yeah, I’d be lying if i said i didn’t look at numbers, but with the #1 album in the country and the #1 song in the country, he’ll make his $. Off the iTunes downloads and the tours and the sponsors. He’ll be alright.

  17. llll says:

    Congratz…woulda loved if he broke the 100k mark in his first week!
    @ thomas…not because people are saying its low they’re hating!
    And everyone got a job in this world, B.o.B’s job is to make music and sell. Mine is finishing college and start lookin for one! Those people who said its low for a number one debut truly meant he shoulda done better! Its not like they make records! They’re bloggers they give opinions!!I’m sure everyone has a job, and they get paid!

  18. What I Said says:

    @Jon-B

    What’s better?..Havin the #1 album and sellin under 100,000 or Sellin over 100,000 and havin #5 album??

    ^^^^^^

    Sellin Over 100,000 And Havin A #5 Album , Theres Nothing To Be Proud Of With A Low Number And Being Number 1 , That’s Just Like You In A Race And You Come In 4th And SomeOne Tell You ” You Still Number 1″ No My Nigga You Flop My Nigga

  19. What I Said says:

    Drake EP Sold More Than That DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  23. The Truth83 says:

  24. ineedm0ney says:

    congrats bobby ray. got an itunes copy and physical cd. #1 is #1 no matter how u look at it!

  25. ANT619HONY says:

    album was not good

  26. David Gomez says:

    Im sure in about three months he will go gold. Its hard to sell alot of records nowadays being a new artist first time out the gate. The only people doing big numbers are the ones who made music during the golden era of CD sales in the late 90s & early 2000s (Jay Z, Lil Wayne, Eminem) . Before alot of people had broadband internet. I think he made a solid album with Rock,Pop,& Hip-Hop Influcences. Its just good music not necessarily just Hip-Hop. There is alot of better “Hip-Hop” artist out there but how many of them do you know “Sings, Raps, Produces, & Play like 4 different instruments?

  27. Fat Boy says:

    I wish he sold at least in the 100k but damn smh. Congrats my dude BoB #1 album

  28. BK says:

    @What I Said

    Nigga get drakes dick out ya mouth. This is rapradar not fukin judaism R Us. Get the fuck outta here with that bullshit!

  29. Kid Nice says:

    Congrats B.o.B.!!! The dude deserves this!

  30. Toya says:

    I’m happy that Bobby Ray’s #1 (the album is great) but how sad is that an artist can be #1 with just over 80,000 records sold? Course I’m not a rapper or a real music artist so me selling 8 would be impressive.

    Maybe everyone’s trying to save up their money for next month.

  31. bwsrunla says:

    theses fans are disloyal…anyway

  32. Belize says:

    I herd the cd..lotta people like it..its just too “white” for me

    :::shrugs:::

    congrats bob

  33. ,.,.,. says:

    it’s a shame to see actual talent get this type of sales, when no talent (gucci mane) sells more, wtf is this world coming to?

  34. Interscope Employee says:

    sorry but thats a FLOPP!!!!!

    people were quick to say 50 cent flopped with 161K first week
    but 83k is good? fuck outta here

  35. Interscope Employee says:

    and im not hating. i fuckz with BoB. His mixtape was hot, and some songs on his album are hot

  36. Eyerone says:

  40. petey says:

    I was let down by this album…shit was bland.

  41. HUSH P. says:

    The reason everybody’s numbers are the way they are is because instead of going out and supporting the artist, we’d rather just sit here and bicker about what “good” first week sales are. There is no secret group of consumers that is going to support the artists that we listen to. Some of the best albums have had mediocre sales. I’d rather sell 50k a week fora year than a mil out the gate.

  42. slowbot says:

    @so called interscope employe

    fuck outta here…83k aint bad at all now a days for a new artist….

    of course 50 cent gonna be held to higher standards after selling as much as he did on his previous albums….thats like a NBA player avg. a solid 27ppg for a few yrs and then he only goes for 10 ppg….its not a flop but he def. fell off…

  43. I.S.A.A.C. says:

    @most of the ppl in here

    Yeah yeah we all the know those are low numbers for a #1….

    But hating on the album is just plain stupid. EVERY song was fire. The “white” pop ones (ignorant statement anyway), the rap ones, the rock ones, and I just wish that half of it wasn’t leaked.

    It sounds crazy to ya’ll but that’s gotta be in my top 5 hip-hop debut albums of all time. Not quite as good as Illmatic, Slim Shady LP (not counting infinite) or College Dropout, but right behind.

    Dude rhymes simple but uses them in such dope sentence structure and can he flow like a maniac when he wants to. (check 2nd verse on Magic or 5th Demension).

    Give the man credit for being unique. If it was all hip-hop with a little singing ya’ll would say he’s biting Andre 3000. And he’s NOT a natural hardcore rap artist.

  44. Truth will out says:

    In one year this kid came out of no where to do 87k. WOW Congrats. Good job TJ

  45. JoeyM says:

    This was his debut, he hasn’t really built a good and strong fanbase yet. The next album will do better.

  46. Breezy says:

    lol at you niggas saying its a flop. its really difficult to breakthrough nowadays.

    How many of you actually bought the album.?

  47. B. Digital says:

    In today’s music industry – below average economy, CDs leak 2 weeks to a month before the official release date, etc. – you have to admit that B.O.B. and his team did do a good job in getting the #1 album and #1 single on ITunes. Plus he’s relatively new to the game; so he gets props from me.

  48. Honey says:

    hahaha..i misread the numbers and i thought its like 800,00 plus and i went “:wow, he outsold eminem?”

  49. Jordan Cohen says:

    Seriously, WHO BUYS RECORDS ANYMORE!?!?!

  50. B.Dot says:

    The number should’ve been higher, but whatever. It’s a good look nonetheless. Plus he has two singles in the top 10 of Billboard. Not bad for a new artist if you ask me.

  51. mistah_zee says:

    lol as jimmy iv from interscope said the dude tht finds the key to selling records online will be a rich man, cause physical albums arent sayign shit no more.

    still bob got a # 1 song and album so fuck yall

  52. laylah says:

    How!!!??? J.Cole don’t need to worry then…

  53. BTK says:

    Thats not much to be impressed about. #1 aint shit if you selling what a #10 would in an average week. Id rather be #2 and sell 300000 than #1 and 83000. .100000 for #1 is a pathetic thing to brag about

  54. Whatever says:

    I’m happy with that. I really like this guy’s music, and I believe he deserves it. It’s true he didn’t sell many albums, but I think he’ll grow on people in the end.

  55. Brandon Anderson says:

    Ok, this is B.o.B’s debut album so i really dont understand how you can say 83,00 in the first week is a flop. And whoever said anything about Gucci Mane, lets compare their debut albums. Gucci’s debut album, Back To The Traphouse, only sold 32,000 copies in the first week and debuted at #57. Also that was back in 2007, before the recession and before everything was leaked on the internet weeks before its release. And Birdman’s 5* Stunna sold 85,000 in its first week, which was his third album. So for B.o.B to sell 50,000 more copies than Gucci’s debut album and only 2,000 copies less than Birdmans third album, I really dont think this is a flop.

  56. Da Business says:

    Solid debut by BOB, though I felt he should have emceed a’lil more on the lp. As far as the sales r concern, STR8 up if you’re not Jay, Ye, TI, Wayne, and a hand full of others…crackin’ 150k IS NOT AN OPTION. Especially if u r a NEW artist. So give that name his props and keep it movin’, he did his thang on his debut, plus he has @ lease another #1 hit on his hands w/ the Airplanes joint.

    SERIOUSLY, WE AS FANS NEED TO STOP W/ THE BS!!!

    U and I know that 90 to 95% of us aren’t buying any lp’s nowadays, so there is no need to shit on n!99@$ who debut w/ low #. It’s not necessary, especially when NO ONE is doing # today. U can’t blame artist who feel the need to do some pop records, bcuz it’s CLEAR that we(hip hoppers) don’t support r own.

    And for the record, I did cop the lp. And it was worth my $10.

  57. realdeal says:

    Many of you are saying that he sold good enough for a new artist, but cudi sold almost double 170,000 first week and he was competing with jay. I think he did okay but not good, watch drake numbers I bet his at least gonna sell 300,000 first week or more.
