DJ Premier Speaks On His Kanye Track

During Preemo’s tour stop in Strasbourg, France, he talks the origins of his name, what’s in his iPod, and who he thinks is the next big artist. At the 3:50 mark, Preem reveals that he’s given Kanye one track for Good Ass Job and that Yeezy wants two more. He says the vocals haven’t been laid down yet, but that it’s a slow beat. Merci, au revoir!

    I’m knowing Kanye is about to make some like 2010-version of Boom Bap music and suddenly make the cool in the mainstream, cuz that’s just what he does.

    He always is ahead of everyone. There are artists still trying to emulate him right now with this dance/pop/synth and electronic music, and all of a sudden, he’s about to throw ’em off with some hip-hop ish.

    Plus, he knows his grassroots fans are like 3 inches from leaving his fanbase for the limits of music he’s pushed things too…so this will bring them back in just in time.

    Smartest artist in the world in my opinion…

  • I really can’t wait for Kanye to put this album out. A few nice gems have surfaced over the tons of crap released recently and this will be one of those gems. This guy is an artist to the definition and he’ll prove that again.
