Its all Good…. His single/nation wide fame makes up for the sales. It’ll be alot like Cudi… Cudi sold 120k first week which is crazy for a new artist…but 2nd time around, they should both sell more.

  8. llll says:

Man he’s so talented it would have been amazing if he pushed 100k 1st week. But also he got 2 hit records dominating the charts….his next album will sell better of course. Its just the beginning of something beautiful ma homie!

  9. Dallastx_groveside says:

    He didn’t push 100k ???????

  10. Fat Boy says:

@Dallastx groveside. Yea he sold 85,000 smh should of sold more

  11. Truth says:

Stfu, dude is still young and his first album debuted at number one, regardless of what he sold, he accomplished something big for someone his age, juss uplift the dude and say congrats and wish him continued success

  12. mikedreamsmusic says:

He definitely accomplished something big. Dude is 21 years old and has a #1 album and 2 Billboard 100 hits, one of them that was #1. I think AIRPLANES is headed up there too and he has a couple more single-worthy songs on the album that could hit the charts as well.

I don’t think anyone is trying to be negative when they say they wish he sold more. I’m a fan and I went out and bought the album. I was hoping he’d at least do a quarter-mil. But it’s all good. Just like someone mentioned above, this will establish him.

There’s two types of artists. New ones and then ones who’ve been around and have name recognition. Name recognition is the reason someone like Eminem can DEBUT #1 on the Billboard 100 charts (not to say the song was good also), but it gets more hype based on the name alone, therefore skyrocketing it, at least initially. If it’s a bad song, the name recognition vs. quality of song will eventually balance itself out.

For someone like B.o.B, a lot of people don’t know him yet, even if they know the song “Nothin’ On You”. He doesn’t have that name recognition yet, but this debut will establish him. Now, when he makes another album ,if he has hit songs like he had on this album, he will sell more because now he has the hits AND the name recognition.
