Before Teflon Don hits stores in July, Ross plans to release his new mixtape, Albert Anastasia this Memorial Day weekend. The project is named after the deceased Gambino crime boss. Ross explains to Rap Radar the reasoning behind the title. Apparently, it’s still deeper than rap.

@ morgan Best beats maybe, but best flows and lyrics definitely not. Bottom line, he’s probably the best beat-selecter in the game right now and he flows well enough to not fuck them up. Does he occasionally have somthing clever to say? Yeah, once in awhile. Does he say anything of substance? No.
The C.O. thing fucks up his credability. It feels good listening to 50 or Biggie because its real experiences through their eyes. Ross paints an incredible picture through his raps but its just not from his reality. So it takes away a little. It takes away from him ever having the real life story and he’ll never be a legend. His music is the best though…

And musically, his beats are dope, his flow is decent, lyrics dont suck per say. Rick Ross is a (very) slightly above average rapper who picks good beats. We all know how important beat picking is, hell, poor beat selections might be the only reason nas isn’t as famous as jay-z.
