Make it an EP & give it away for free???????? Wut type of bullshit is that!!!!!! *Rhetorical*

This is wuts wrong w/ music it ain’t just the artists, it’s “fans”. Music is not a natural resource you & I don’t deserve to get free music neither does anybody else (except music reviewers, A&R’s etc) even if an artist is giving out free music you are not ENTITLED to it but you are welcome to download it. It should be common knowledge people can’t support their families by NOT getting paid for their work unless you hit the lotto or you’re a trust fun baby.

If an artists puts together a great album that is only 8, 9 or 10 songs & it sounds cohesive & complete why not drop the regular $12-$14 album price for it? It’s an album full of quality material.

I still think it’ll be a good album. Some of the albums nowadays have about 5 great tracks and about 10 shitty ones. I these 9 are best of the best I am still buying it.

  11. HipHopObama says:

Yeah its short, BUT STS (Sugar Tongue Slim) is on there sooo…..G.O.L.D!!

  12. Young Bizzy says:

Tipping Point was 10 tracks. Just sayin’.

  13. Ac@pella! says:

Ya’ll niggaz complainin’ actin like ppl put EVERY song on the album out as a single. Common’s albums were dope, and they were only 11 songs deep. It keeps the fans wanting more. The Carter II had about 22 songs on there and I STILL haven’t listened to all of that shit cause only the 1st half of the album is worth bumping, and that was 5 years ago!

  14. @RAPSKEEM says:

Cant wait 2 hear this….. those nine tracks gotta be FIRE….

  15. dantanimal says:

This is not the full track list. Its 10 songs, 1 bonus song, and at last 3 interludes. http://bit.ly/aJZHGm

    and im always quality el.

    stop playin.

  18. EMSONE says:

When have The ROOTS ever put out a shitty albulm? Those who complain about prices and track quanties need to Stay Cool…

I bet Daniel drinks in the parking lot of the club

    @Daniel

homie all the best albums ever made are generally 9 tracks or shorter. with shorter albums it gives you more to pay attention to. generally people dont have the time to listen to an album all the way through. so with shorter albums we have the attention span to grasp everything the artist is trying to convey. plus this album is supposed to be a soul record and an homage to the 70’s and soul and motown. most albums before the late 70’s early 80’s are all 9 tracks or less.

i do agree with you on the pricing though. 12 bucks for a 9 track album is bull. but its the roots the greatest group in the world. the tightest most banginest band ever. so ill buy anything they put their hands on. and they have over 900 tracks recorded in general they should just be poppin out the tracks left and right. but they need to make their money somehow right?
