Scram Jones On New Kanye Tracks At Club
Kanye was spotted in NYC last weekend and Saturday night, he took over the CV Lounge with four new tracks off the tentatively titled, Good Ass Job. Scram Jones spinning that night and reflects on moment.
“Kanye came through. There’s a table right by the DJ booth, so they posted up right in front of the booth, and basically, after they hung out for a little while, 45 minutes later, Pat came in the booth and said he wanted to play some new stuff. He had a CD, and we put it in. Kanye leaned over and said, ‘Play track three.’ They all went nuts, Kid Cudi was dancing on the table, and then we cut it off at about a minute-and-a-half. We went to another record, and that got everybody excited, and Kanye said, ‘Play number seven.’ That’s how it kept happening. By the end of the process, we played four records.”
🙁 I’m jealous
I think most of y’all forgot about this guy…well from what’s being said, he’s back and I’ll put him vs. anyone on the radio or not
Man, I think I would die if I met Kanye and I’m no stan. The dude is just a genuis. Bring back Boom Bap and go hard Kanye because not only does Hip Hop need you but music needs you.
KANYE, BRING BACK HIP-HOP! 808S & HEARTBREAK WAS A FAIL…
Anyone else *die* @ picturing cudi dancing on the table?
Kanye sounds like he’s getting back to Graduation and before stuff, if he brings back Boom Bap, like he brought reality and fun back into hip-hop, this will be a classic record.
It’s almost hidden, in this age of new records from Drake, Game, Eminem, and so on, Kanye West somehow snuck beneath the radar and is making something we’ll cherish for the ages.
College Dropout – Classic album, from the first listen on there’s never ever been a piece of this record that wont bring back emmories, envoke spirit, uplift a crowd, and get you singing along
Late Registration – Classic, basically the perfect way to follow up a rookie record… Say what you missed in your first album instead of re-creating it, not too many artists so that in todays climate, Kanye did it perfectly
Graduation – Damn near classic, alot of feel good music, a few bumps and tricks that didnt work but it’s an accessable record with alot of heart, not to mention his best production work
808’s & Heartbreaks – A risk that paid off, in my opinion a modern-day miracle, the first of its kind, and it’s opened the doors for Cudi, Drake and B.O.B. to be as creative as they want, like it or not this record is very important in modern demographics in hip-hop/r&B
A Good Ass Job – Revival of hip-hop, like it or not when this record drops, it might make a bigger boom then Eminem will, and im not comparing the two, but when Kanye beat 50, it’s proof that this guy is no longer restricted to this genre, he can go out and do what he wants.
I’m just glad he’s back to rapping…
2010 is a great year for hip hop Eminem Recovery, T.I. King Uncaged, Dr.Dre Detox(hopefully it cones this year smh), and kanye Good Ass Job
My bad Lupe Fiasco to Lasers
T.i’s whack, basic bars, relies on big productions and guest features
This is like watchin fuckin porn man….whats the point of exciting us if we ain’t gettin shit? C’mon man Drop the album already!
Kanye is that dude I been listening to college dropout for like a month Cudi held it down for him for a while but That Nigga Yeezy needs to come bacc
i dont know about his shit being bigger than Em’s becuz em dropping not Afraid as his Lead single was different and that shit already number 1 beating out a Usher and Will I Am Hit
but Kanye if its rap he will definitely have one of the best albums out this year
