Tupac Biopic Coming Soon

Training Day director, Antoine Fuqua revealed to Digital Spy that he’ll begin production on a Tupac biopic this fall. No word as to who’ll play the rapper nor release date.

It looks like we’re doing Tupac Shakur’s movie next in September, that’s what I’ve been starting up and working on now,” he said. “I’ve been working on that for a while with Morgan Creek and Jim Robinson. I just got the greenlight from him and we’re going in September. I’ve just started to prep that.”

“That’s the goal, I want to discover someone new,” he explained. “I want to discover a lot of new people if I can. Obviously I’m going to have to put some people in it that you know, just because actors have different skills. I want to go to the streets and find him anywhere he might be in the world.”

  2. Chris Searl says:

First the new album and then this?

Let the man rest in peace, his work is being over-saturated… Imagine 20 years from now, no Tupac records, and then there’s a huge collection… That shit would go diamond

Now, with all these little projects, it’s just too much

  5. Markoni says:

@ Chris Searl… he made the music so he could bring the message not so it would go diamond… plus when was his last album released… and I mean real official Tupac album??

  6. Drucifer1983 says:

I’m sure it will be better then Notorious just because of the director, Training day is a new age classic, Denzel was the ultimate Crooked Cop in that

I wonder who will play Pac tho, nobody working in films that resembles him at all……

  7. teejay says:

As long as pac isn’t played by fucking anthony mackie I’m good.

  8. Drucifer1983 says:

    @ Teejay

lol……I kinda liked that dude in hurt locker…….I have no idea, but I hope its not someone with no acting experience, like gettin Gravy Fat as in Notorious just cause he looked like him

    SMH

  9. Post no billz says:

I hope they do pac right.. Cus notorious was piece of shit and very un-accuratte..

  10. teejay says:

    @drucifer

Nah he was great in the hurt locker, but he was a shitty tupac, didn’t look or act like him. Only thing appearance wise him and pac had in common was they they were both short black dudes.

  11. Elton John says:

Thought they covered everything in Tupac Ressurrection

  12. money mitch says:

not only was notorious one of the worst rap movies, it was one of the worst movies period

puffy i mean who the fuck was that guy, shitty actor and biggie lets not get started

hope this is better than that

  13. HawthorneFinest says:

Is it gonna be a documentary or a Acting movie like Notorious??
I hope it’s like Notorious, but Better..lol and get someone who looks more like Pac then that skinny ass fool in Notorious (wanna-be Pac) Lmao
    R.I.P. Pac!!!!
Pac’s gone, but the music lives FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! says:

  15. So Icy Boi! says:

Nortoios movie wasnt that bad to me

  16. Ac@pella! says:

Lmao @ all the comments on here. I feel bad 4 goin 2 c Notorious opening day last year (hey, I can admit it lol) I’ma huge hip hop fan and I had 2 c it. Anyways, this movie has 2 be done right or they might as well make it str8 2 dvd…oh, and Notorious WAS terrible now that I think about it, and Anthony Mackie should not be allowed to play a rapper EVER again 4 the rest of his career…

  17. pac 10 says:

I think fredro starr would make a good PAC….rampage could be suge since he got f*** up last night….n arsenio hall could b puffy lol

  18. Nathaniel says:

i really don’t think there is a nigga walking the streets that could pull tupac shakur off. i really don’t. there are so many elements to that nigga… so many sides, conflictions. everything from look, body language, demeanors, voice… no matter who they get, it’s gonna fail by default. i really don’t think that shit can be done.

and even further, if they don’t open up his roots and what was beneath and all around his so-called thug image, (i’m talking about black panther party, his LEADERSHIP in the New Afrikan Panthers) and all the nation building theory behind what the media misconstrued as just juvenile delinquency, i’ma be pissed the fuck off.

he was one of the last prophetic voices in rap to the black community. i don’t wanna see no expose on his troubles with the law, beef with bad boy, and his two shootings.

  19. vito says:

4 words, DON’T FUCK IT UP!!!!!!

  20. Kerma says:

Seeing what they’ve done with the Kurt Cobain movie – Tupac’s going to be played by Robert Pattison with blackface makeup.

  21. Interscope Employee says:

    Pac > Biggie

  22. eazy says:

Antoine Fuqua would have to be completely off his head to fuck a movie up.

He has never ever fucked a movie up.

It’s great that he’s doing this biopic, and that they’ve got a great writer for the NWA biopic.

It seems as if they were watching to see how the Biggie biopic can be improved.

  23. UltraKid says:

Notorious was Ok and it was basically a final R.I.P. to Biggie—Notice how there’s no more albums being released.

  24. Markoni says:

Biggie never made that much music, Pac on the other hand was crazy, they say he made about 800 songs total… now that’s something and it’s not like waynes songs about nothing in particular. Pac had a message in each and every one of his rhymes so don’t confuse shit with these new mixtapes being pushed out every week or so.

  25. nickey black says:

i would love 2 c this film but thats like trying to find some1 2 b like Jesus and im not talkin bout Mel’s version. I dont think they will get this completed, its gonna b a hard task. Their will never b anutha Pac even if u tried to act like him. Denzel deffintely bought Malcolm X alive again so its possible but i doubt my man of Training Day and BKFinest can pull this thru. Im doubting cuz i wanna b surprised like WOOOOOW!

can’t wait to see it…if they pick the right person to play Pac then i expect to see compassion, oppression, emotion, and over the edge thuggish type wildness because that’s exactly what he was…i miss this nigga dearly like everyone else…its just sad that he had to die just to get a piece of happiness…R.I.P. 29. S.E.L.F says:

Check this kid out…he can actually act!

  30. Rhaz says:

I hope they don’t make up some falls facts of tupac’s life and also hope they pic a good actor for the role, in the notorious big movie, the dude that played tupac was so far from acting like him and personally he made tupac look like dumb, week, punk…it was a bullshit movie.
