Ohio isn’t the only place Cam’Ron gets it in. The Harlem MC explains why he relocated to Atlanta for his upcoming projects.
“We got a bunch of stuff going on,” Cam explained recently. “I got my solo album to do. We got ‘Killa Season 2′ soundtrack. ‘Cousin Bang, the Movie’ soundtrack. To keep it 100, down South, they got a lot of hot beats with no samples. We’re trying to just get a different vibe. I did four of my albums in New York, one in Chicago, one in L.A. But I never did an album recording in Atlanta. So me and Vado came down here to get a different vibe. We’re gonna be down here for a few months recording and working.”
Yesterday morning, Suge Knight was arrested for assault with a firearm and driving with a suspended license. Earlier today, his lawyer Marc Brumer spoke with CNN on his client’s behalf.
“He’s innocent, 100 percent. Suge Knight is a businessman. He is not a person who would carry a gun or flash a gun at anybody. That’s not Suge Knight. There was never a gun found. He was very cooperative, answered all the questions police had, and we just feel that he shouldn’t have been arrested. There are a lot of people that hate (Knight) and are jealous of what he has obtained in his life. He’s working with new artists, starting a record label, looking into sports management companies. A reality show on his life is also a possibility. He’s really an icon in the music industry, and really looked up to in the African-American community.”
Despite Lil’ Kim’s rift with Lil Cease and D-Roc, Cease-A-Leo tells Sway that a Junior M.A.F.I.A. reunion needs to happen.
“We’re working on it,” the Brooklyn-born Cease continued. “That’s something I would definitely want to do. I tried it for a year. Especially for Kim — I reached out for years. Everybody else is kinda in sync: I speak to Roc, Nino, D, [Money] L, everybody else is still kinda connected. The only one I wasn’t connected [with] was Kim. I been swallowed my pride. Because as a family, when you know somebody for so long, you go through things. I didn’t think our situation would go this long and this far. As you get older, you start to appreciate that family value. It’s hard to try and do that in this day and age, when you this age. It takes a lot to build that kind of loyalty and trust. As days went by, I thought, ‘This is something Big would want.’ I hear it every day. I’m in the neighborhood and I’m outside. When they see Kim, they think of Big. When they see me, they think of Big. When they see D-Roc, they think of Big, and we’re all separated. I know Big would want us all eating together in one room. I’mma do my best to make that happen.”

Drake is the new face of Hip Hop on the latest issue of Billboard, which hits stands May 29th. In related news, “Find Your Love” has rounded out the top 20.
UPDATE: Billboard has the cover story up.
The accolades flatter Drake, but he still feels he isn’t quite there-yet. “That’s the most flattering thing in the world but at the same time, real, legendary status can’t be dictated by the people who are still here witnessing it,” he says. “Legendary status is when the next generation comes up. The kids that are 15 right now and will be going to college in five or six years-if they say, ‘Yo, I remember when Drake came to this school. That’s one of the most legendary shows ever,’ that’s when you’re a legend. I’m young. I’m 23. This is too soon. I really want to grow and be that guy.”
