This Mr. Mathers guy is sure making his rounds over in Europe. Earlier this evening, Em stopped by Friday Night With Jonathan Ross for more Recovery promo. He shares his thoughts on Relapse, influence from Uncle L, his movie career, and says he hopes to tour in Europe soon. Down below, Em returned to perform “Not Afraid”.

lolll @ everyone he’s not even lip syncing in this performance his mic is just super low, listen to his other performance of this the first one he done it was really good and made me happy to see em performing again because everything from relapse up until he did basically lip sync and such a shame too because back in the day he was probably the best live show there was just so much energy and anger and actually sounded as good live as on the track because his voice is so monotone

I think its weird, how everyone is taking up for him but if it were a Drake post, he woulda been crucified, i think thats bias, Em’s performances are really as good as they used to be, his lyrics are always on point, but it gets to a point where u has a music fan, have to put away the fact that u are fan and really be honest wit urself, we have seen better from Em’ and he can do so much better than this, this song sonds like DMX’s “Lord Give Me A Sign”, and the hook is not hot, i love Em and will be getting the album, so far i like the Won’t Back Down record the best so far

He doesn’t lip-sync, a lot of rappers do what he does: the track plays in the background and they rap over it. This helps when they need to take a breath so the song doesn’t sound choppy, plus Em got Mr. Porter. He has the track playing on the chorus and bridge, sings over it a bit, but he admits he can’t sing, so it’s probably good he doesn’t fully sing it live. While I admit he was an incredible performer back in the day when he was drugged up, he will get better as he gets back into it. He has some big shows this year, and they won’t disappoint.

Iunno, something about him now. Did y’all hear his stan performance on BBC radio? He just doesn’t give off the same energy he used to do. He seems like now he’s trying to satisfy the public, when before he just did whatever he felt like. He sounds so forced now, where’s the emotion? I dnt want the old Em, i believe in growth, but even Em said it in this interview, he listened to his older records and heard the passion in his heart that he has lost, i look at his facial expressions when he performs and he seems bored, seems distant like his heart isn’t there, and on the records its hard to tell it but he is at a point where all his fans are just bias, he puts out a record and no one really gives their opinion or true feelings, they say idc what Em does, its all hot no matter what, we can’t be Em’s YES MEN, we have to analyze and help artist grow

Eminem used to be a great performer, I guess once all the drugs got flushed out, his nervous system went with it…. now he’s more on edge or atleast it appears to be, hence affecting his performances, he just ain’t as smooth as the old slim shady.

1. He’s not lip syncing. You guys are crazy. The white boy raps over his tracks. The track’s volume is usually turned more down than it was in this video. He lets the chorus play but he raps the song. I can tell the difference between lip syncing and actual performing. I could hear Em’s real voice in this.
2. Man, yall need to get off the whole “he said nigga” shit. Didn’t Jay Z say that it takes the power out of the word by saying nigga. If he did say it, and you guys take it personally and as an insult than you’re completely retarded. If you want to take the power out of the word, then don’t get insulted by it. 20 years ago he said it as an insult and he was mis judged of his character. We all say shit we don’t mean. If he says it now, man, he doesn’t mean it like that. He’s got Royce and Porter next to him anyway. It’s not like they’re slapping the shit out of him.
3. Good performance.
Eminem has the right to say the word I think. Look at who he hangs with and respects. It’s pretty clear he’s not saying Nigga in a racist way.
Man, there are no rights to the word. Anyone can say it. It all depends on how it’s taken. If he did say it, it’s clearly not used as an insult. People just want a reason to scream racism. It’s just a word. Take offense to it and it’s offensive. That’s your fault. Not the man who said it.

1) Keep in mind, Eminem performs not just in America, but all over the world. What about these other rappers- you don’t see them outside the US.
2) Eminem has never sung his choruses in his concerts. But he always spits his verses.
3) Go back to Dre’s 2001 tour and look at Eminem’s performance when he was younger.
4) Eminem is reaching 40 and doesn’t have the energy of 20 yr old rappers. I can tell you one thing though, he sounds the exact same live in concerts than his CDs.
