Since 1997, Frank Sinatra’s “New York New York” has been the theme song at the Belmont Stakes. But now, officials from the New York Racing Association say the cut will be replaced by Jay-Z’s “Empire State Of Mind” during their 142nd running this Saturday. According to the AP, reps say the track is the “quintessential 21st century theme song for New York City.” The song will be performed by teen singer, Jasmine Villegas. Hip-hop wins by a nose!
