T.I. Collabs With Kid Rock & Martina McBride

T.I. revealed to MTV last month that he’d been in the lab with Kid Rock. And in this week’s edition of Entertainment Weekly, Kid says he and Tip are featured on a Rick Rubin-produced song with country singer Martina McBride.

You’ve been working Rick Rubin on your new album. What’s the word on that?
We’ve just finished. I’m mixing away right now. There’s a song with Martina McBride and T.I. There’s a song with Zac Brown. I have another great duet with Sheryl Crow, with Bob Seger playing piano. It’s a game changer for me. Totally different process working with Rick Rubin. With this album we were working around playing, singing live, no click tracks. Kinda of a crazy concept these days. But it’s the way real records are made.

That’s big man, this album is gonna appeal to a new audience for T.I., i bet some of these hip hop fans have never even heard of some of these ppl and they will get a chance to open up to new music, gotta give it up to ppl like Kanye, Wayne, Jay, B.o.B. and Eminem for branching out and working with country, pop and rock singers

  5. The interview is with Kid Rock, NOT T.I. He’s not changing his musical style that much, people. I am intrigued to hear this song though. Makes you take notice of Kid Rock for the first time in years.

Kid Rock is actually a pretty big part of Detroit’s hip hop history. He ruled their underground scene for years. Dude has cut tracks with Too $hort, toured with Ice Cube. He actually stayed with Eminem on the track “Fuck Off: they did together.
