  5. dumb dumb says:

    I see this prevalent theme going around about straight to DVD like its a bad thing. it’s pure ignorance to think that just because it goes to DVD it’s not profitable.

    3 independent film studios share the cost of a 3 million dollar budget movie in Grand Rapids, Mi.(tax incentives) with a distribution deal from Lionsgate knowing its destination is the DVD market. Curtis Jackson is part owner of one of the film companies and acting to reduce cost, to top it off its a multi movie deal.

    It’s his business and you have to start somewhere. No studios are opening the doors so he’s creating a door for himself. Personally I think he sucks as an actor, but he’s trying and who knows he may get better in time.

    Little tid bit, Hurt Locker was on its way to straight to DVD but a big studio picked it up. So their is no shame in straight to DVD. Its called independent films.

  6. Why is it that every 50 Cent movie gotta have “Many Men” (or a song off his 1st album) on the Trailer?!

  7. thisislife says:

    Its an independent film…If it goes to the movie theater of course that makes it more profitable..If it does not the dude and his team still will make great money….I never understood how you can hate on a man just because he hurt you by laughing at faggots and niggas who act like bitches….sonsay is a prime example of a man turned bitch because he was not accepted as a man…

  8. sealey says:

    @dumb dumb thanks for the post. people need to stop the hate. it’s the hate that makes them write negative about others while creating a mindeset where they are afraid to take risks and grow themselves

  9. E_ says:

    N If Y’all People Didn’t Know. Fif Has His Own Film Company
    He Produces 6 Movie’s Per Year. Some Will Go To Theaters
    Some Straight To DVD. I Think “The Gun” & “Things Fall Apart”
    Will Be In Theaters.

  10. will says:

    yea i can name a bunch of str8 to DVDs better than these big budgets pieces of shit I mean shit red box is lowkey competing with the box office you got to one of them red boxes on a friday you will see a line of people almost to the outside getting movies from that machine that primarily have str8 to DVD movies

    Independent Movies and Documentarys>more than half of these bloccbusters real shit

    if James Cameron or Judd Apatow aint attach to it Its not worth going to see real shit this year has been filled with big budget ass movies and motherfuccas can only talk about 4-5 of them

    @save the gay Niggaz

    sad to say it wasnt niggas just didnt go watch it when it came out in theaters I remember seeing it with like 25 people in the whole fuccing theatre at the Bridge it was a limited to release and it was slepted on by the whole city of Los angeles I was telling Niggas about when I 1st seen they still didnt go see it but when it got to Cinemax niggas was dicc riding the movie

    but thats what I really base seeing a movie in the theater off of is if its a special showing like its limited release my best advice is go see it I remember I had to wait to see “Talk to Me” with Don Cheadle till it got to DVD fuccing excellent movie and Im still Waiting to see that Lebron james Documentary becuz they didnt have it out here and I cant find the DVD in no stores out here

    but if the shit is a special screening go see it you might not even know what it is but Im telling go see it becuz the movie you came there to see most likely isnt better and also the movie you came there to see will be there next week its no telling if that special showing is going to be there the next day

    @Acapella

    yea My Gf use to go there and come bacc with like bullshit so I start going with her and I seen why she would come bacc with bullshit becuz everybody would get the good shit Im talking a big ass line bloccing the exits of Walmarts and shit LOL
