The final numbers aren’t in until tomorrow, but Hits Daily Double tallies that Eminem’s Recovery has moved over 750,000 copies. If the figures hold up, the album becomes this year’s highest seller and Em’s fifth consecutive solo number one.
UPDATE: Drum roll please. According to Soundscan final numbers are 741,000 copies. Congrats!

And I also thought Seduction was pretty dope with the seducing rapper’s girls through the stereo and shit. I thought that was pretty dope. I liked how he took it back to the old days with Almost Famous. And I also think Space Bound can be interpreted different ways. I don’t think it’s about one particular thing. I’m sure Em made that song with a few things in mind. Em definitely goes out of his comfort zone in my opinion. Some people might not like it but that’s cool.

You are so correct. Growing up I listened to Naughty by Nature, Onyx, Cypress Hill, MC Hammer, Biggie, Snoop Dogg, Dre. I started listening to hip hop while I was in the 4th-5th grade, Hot 97 – Doc Dre and Ed Lover. I live in NJ 5 minutes from NYC so rap was big. All these artists were hot back then, but being white, I could not really understand what they were saying, plus I was too young to fully understand. As I got older and entered high school Eminem came along. Loved My Name Is…for about a week. Then hated it. Thought to myself that this guy was a joke. A gimmick, another Vanilla Ice, Marky Mark. Then Dre’s Chronic 2001 came out and I loved that. Em was on 2 songs. I thought to myself that this guy actually has skills. Forgot about Dre was classic. After hearing that I bought Slim Shady LP and I was hooked. Then MMLP came out and I thought it was amazing.
Morale of the story is that Eminem’s raps are different than others. He never sold drugs, had money or much fame growing up. He never rapped to get a Escalade and but rims or Spreewells on it. So why would he rap about that. Eminem grew up facing personal demons and he overcame them. Mainly by rapping about it as he was venting. So of course he is gonna be different than others. Think about this, WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME JAY-Z ACTUALLY TOLD A STORY IN HIS RHYMES? I love Jay-Z, but many of his raps are gibberish right now. He’s clever as fuck, but his rhymes are RADIO READY.
