2pac’s 1995 hit “Dear Mama” was one of 25 recordings inducted today into the National Recording Registry. Each year, audio over 10 years old that are “culturally, historically or aesthetically significant” are selected. The recordings are preserved at a facility in Culpeper, Virgina.
This marks the third hip-hop inductee following Grandmaster Flash and The Furious 5′s “The Message” and Public Enemy’s Fear of A Black Planet.

According to Hits, Eminem’s Recovery is expected to do football numbers as the highest first week selling album of the year.
Offering conclusive proof that Marshall still matters, Eminem’s aptly named Recovery will score the year’s highest sales debut. Look for a total of between 590-615k for the Shady/Aftermath/Interscope album, easily beating Sade’s 503k back in February. It could also beat his last album, Relapse, which sold 608k in its first week in May ’09.
