After stopping by DJ Semtex’s show Friday night, Lightskinned Jermaine made his UK performance debut during the Wireless Festival at Hyde Park in London earlier today. Above the show’s headliner Hov brought out the rising star for their BP3 duet. The NC spitta runs down a few of his bangers after the jump.

  15. Donn says:

    @ShootDon’tPlease
    Say watchu want man, but i love good music, and i love hits, u know wat songs i got off Em’s album?….Not Afraid, Won’t Back Down, Love the Way You Lie, No Love….wanna kno wat i got from Nas & Damien Marley….My Generation, As We Enter, Strong Will Continue…..I have most of the billboard hot 100 in my ipod, etc
    Don’t knock me for wat i like, i study only hits my dude. Everybody can rap now adays but not everybody can make hits, BIGGIE made hits, PAC made hits, so why can’t Jcole

  16. Post no billz says:

    J.cole is the future.. Get with movement or get ran over by it.. Cole world..

  17. 106 says:

    @ Donn you not a hip hop fan. You letting billboard tell you whats hot? First those Em songs you got are all wack you just following the pack homie. Its true if Cole cant make hits he not gonna last. I always say its more important for him to drop a dope album then to make singles for the radio. Hip Hop fans dont listen to the radio its always word of mouth how mc’s blow and smash the game. In Hip Hop we always tryna find that new shit nobody fucking with yet. Cole that nigga we talkin bout now.

  18. !ShootDontPlease says:

    @donn

    Well first of all how many singles has he put out? Its not like all his shit is flopping or anything. He’s got one single and its doing well considering his fan base is only underground heads at the moment.

    Secondly, he doesn’t make music for top 40 radio he makes raw lyrical true hip hop, something the country doesn’t really embrace.

    Thirdly you got it backwards. These days anyone can make a hit and not many can rap. Soulja Boy, Gucci Mane, Wocka Flocka etc etc are clear examples of this.

    I don’t understand why you would limit yourself and only listen to what the industry is basically telling you to. Don’t you have your own opinion?

  19. Rhyme says:

    I’m with the first guy. J Cole is corny. ZZZzzzzzZZZZZZz’s

  20. Donn says:

    You both gotta understand im more than a Hiphop fan. I listen to Black Eyed Peas, Train, Jack Johnson, Marina and The Machines, etc. So as a fan of music. I want to hear hits. Not just cool sixteens and a hook. To survive and make an impact you have to make those hits. I think Cole is talented but if yall want him to make an impact he needs to cater to audiences like me. Who like rock and pop music. Idc wat ppl have to say honestly cus i have the right to like wat i like. Just tellin you the real as a person who works in these labels everyday.

  21. […] Cole is next up. Hov doesn’t just share the stage with anyone. Props to RR. […]

  22. Word says:

    @Donn

    If you want more than just hip hop, you belong on popradar or something. Cole got hits, they all on The Warm Up. Who Dat is dope, Higher is dope. So, if Who Dat was number 1 on billboard 100, then you would feel the song? A nigga dont gotta dominate the hot 100 just to have “hits”

    But you just want something simple and catchy that you can latch onto without thinking twice. So, in this respect, I think you might wanna stick to pop music and some soulja boy and gucci. Aint nuffin wrong with that, but you gonna be a fan of Cole you gonna have to take his music as it is, cuz he aint selling out no time soon.

  23. EZyness says:

    Just because somethin is a hit, doesnt make it good. It just means its popular, and unfortunately nowadays the popular songs are mostly wack hiphop with a flashy music video.

  24. yaboyboyyunglucci says:

    Gayz and jdole where jim jones at rap is hella boring now nobody takin shots at each other no more rap is no fun anymore too east coast dick lickin where my nigga YUK at where all niggas dat get it poppin at Kanye kid cutti GOOD music Dem niggas is hella gay nigga beef wit a white girl taylor swift boo rap need a facelift cam kiss beans Yuk messy marv everbody on the same team now New boyz thats the new west u get my point cole aint hot niggas a tax write off niggas need that diversity in ra

  25. !ShootDontPlease says:

    This dude needs to go to school ^

  26. ajnapoleon says:

    damn why do we gotta take shots at each other for hip-hop to be exciting? if u want that go watch WWE!!! i want music not fake beef …o u want battles? take it to the stage then two mc’s and a mic thats a battle not digging up the other guys past and hiding in the bushes with a damn camera fliming someones mom eating mcdonalds…that what it come to SMH!

  27. RocNation says:

    he’s the next big thing! all you haters go and listen to the shitty Drake album!

  28. thatdude says:

    ROFL @ THAT NIGGA DON asking for hits. Go listen to the Warm up, or any verse by cole not just sick lyrics, dope songs.

  29. thatdude says:

    WoW Donn, so when you buy music you don’t even get the full albums to hear the shit that you don’t play in your car with the windows down? Sorry to say I like music that I think is dope, not what the charts tell me are dope. All of Em’s album minus WTP is fire. If you don’t like a dope 16 and a pretty good hook regardless if its on top100 you aren’t a true fan of music. Tons of artists have hits that don’t make it on those lists just because of 0 exposure.

  30. zzzzzzz says:

    damn you haters! J.Cole is dope as hell! fire!!!

  31. HA! says:

    Can’t wait for J.Cole’s album to drop. It’s prob the only music I’ll purchase this year, I’ll prob buy Em’s too.

  32. Brummagen says:

    I was there, it was freakin’ EPIC as fuck. God damn, Jay tore it down, Cole had a great set and Wale came up as well n they did ‘Beautiful Bliss’ then Wale had a surprisingly good set as well.

    Lol @ J.Cole thinking there’d only be like 5 fans there aha, a lotta people at the Jay-Z set even knew Cole’s words on A Star is Born.

  33. your a hater.. be honest says:

    london fans are great,… j.cole is nice.. can’t wait til album drops.

    glad he remembered his words to lights please this time round

  34. So Icy Boi! says:

    This nigga betta than drake !! but nobody can fuc wit waka flocka murdaman … we southern dumb ass niggaz rule this game !!! … (IQ: less then 80)

  35. Donn says:

    Em album was dope. I listened to every song but took the ones i really loved. And honestly i dont listen to Gucci or Soulja Boy. Not to disrespect them but they dont give me hits. I like hits man. Its not about a song bein on the Hot 100. Cus i think some songs on Distant Relatives should be on the Hot 100. But like i said Cole is talented but its more than about talent. And Jay would say the same thing im saying to Cole. I need hits. And i want to see Cole win and be more than a underground success. Feel me.

  36. Tutor says:

    @ Donn…

    I don’t agree with you Re. J. Cole BUT I understand what you’re trying to say…you want proper songs with the whole package: lyrics, structure, harmony, etc. instead of a dude rapping just to rap…I get ya, that’s why I don’t usually listen to mixtapes….but The Warm Up is a solid project “I Get Up” is heavy “Dollar and a Dream II” too and I can go on…

    Like I said though I get where you coming from and I think that’s what holds many rappers back; they’re just spitting without looking to make proper songs. More of them need some musicality.

    I think “HITS” is the wrong word

  37. wizzyk49 says:

    J. Cole is the future. Really rocked the stage yesterday. Was surprised by how many people knew the lyrics to the songs.

    Dude, you dont like Black Eyed Peas??? Wtf! But shout out to dude understandin what im sayin. I dont really do mixtapes. I want to hear complete songs, hot beats, and hooks. If you want JCole to last, he will need more than mixtapes and verses. But singles. JayZ is a bizness man and if Cole dont sell then he’s outta there
