25 Years Later: Run-DMC At Live Aid

To be honest, I was only six months old when this went down. But today marks the 25th anniversary of the Live Aid concert. The global concert was a fundraiser to eradicate the famine in Ethiopia. The shows took place in the U.K. at Wembley Stadium and the demolished JFK Stadium in Philadelphia, PA. It was broadcasted in a billion homes and in 110 countries. Performances included every major artist in the game, but most importantly, Run-DMC. In the city of Brotherly Love, the boys from Hollis were the sole rap act to hit the stage. Before 100,000 fans the trio performed “King Of Rock”. Other rappers, give ’em their respect.
