Apparently, Rick Ross has been in Wiz’s ear about signing him to his Maybach Music label. In this portion of MTV’s RapFix Live, Rozay makes a public plea. So what’s it going to be Wiz, deal or no deal?
“You know, Wiz, what’s happening, this is the Boss, Ricky Ross, Teflon Don. You know we spoke of this in the last week or two, but my question is even more personal that I’d love to ask you right now. What would it take for us to close the deal, Wiz Khalifa and Maybach Music?

I agree with someone else’s comment that this would have an impact as far as expanding the connects, etc. I’m not sure about the track record of Maybach Music enough to say “Sign it Wiz”….(just looking at the Triple C’s output)…..but Wiz IS DESTINED for stardom….he’s got a lane that is fucking packaged perfectly for mass appeal. Plus…he reps P-CITY….our beloved 412 family…so i OF COURSE am mad biased! lol!
I think this is a tough, tough decision….but ultimately….i think he should keep it independent and look at some ways to use this ‘open invitation’ for leverage. there are MANY WAYS to partnership besides signing to the label as an MC. We’ll see what happens.

Rick Ross is on a major label on his third album. He hasn’t headlined any tours or has gone on one for that matter. His career comes with baggage. His sales are fair and that’s with a huge budget. How do you expect someone with his credentials to develop and guide another artist’s career? Just because you can rap doesn’t mean you can lead. Think about it.
