From the set of Trey Songz’s new video, “Bottoms Up”, Nicki tells MTV that her debut album, Pink Friday is “progressing miraculously”. Real, insightful ma. Off camera though, she spoke on her next possible single.
“I have a record called ‘Right Through Me’ that I think will be a standout,” Minaj said. “It’s not gonna come right now. It’ll come closer to when the album drops, but it’s a really, really pretty song. Everyone’s gonna like it.” The MC also discussed the appeal of the record, saying, “It’s just really insightful but in a very conversational kind of way.”

Last time I checked, Ustream is free and albums cost money. Comparing people who sat and watched her on Ustream to people who will actually buy the album is two very different things. I don’t think she’s gonna sell because as someone said she makes music for her fans and that’s her first mistake. She is supposed to be making universally appealing music not just for one specific group of people. That is the reason why Eminem can consistently sell and why Sade can drop an album after being M.I.A. for almost a decade. Chances are most of Nicki’s “barbies” in her movement are broke and won’t have the $9.99 to cough up when the time comes aren’t they all under the age of 18 and unemployed? But no worries, her label will buy some of her albums and give them away for free in contests and other promotional shenanigans just to save face.
