Unlike Eminem, Bun B doesn’t have to hold his fuckin’ breath for 5 mics in The Source. Today, it was announced that the publication crowned his new album, Trill O.G. with a classic rating. It’s the first since Lil’ Kim’s 2005, Naked Truth. The cover will be unveiled later today on 106 & Park.

People’s Instinctive Travels and Paths of Rhythm”, “Stillmatic”, “AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted”, “Death Certificate”, “Paid In Full”, “Criminal Minded”, “Long Live the Kane”, “Critical Beatdown”, “Raising Hell”, “Straight Outta Compton”, “No One Can Do It Better”, “The Score”?…. fuck it I quit!!!
The fact is as much as I respect Bun B and all the material he and Pimp C have created together (especially “Super Tight, Ridin’ Dirty” and “Dirty Money”), this album is nowhere near these masterpieces, and I think The Source is doing both him and the previous “5 Mic” albums a great disservice by putting his new release among the ranks of the elite, which are heralded by both fans and the media.

Exactly! What’s up with the all the hate? I’m probalbly the biggest UGK fan I know and wouldn’t necessarily call this a classic when I compare it to Ridin Dirty, Aquemina, or the Blueprint. A lot of people making these comments probably haven’t heard the album and the only hear the name Bun B and because they maybe aren’t a fan of his music automatically assume the album can’t be great.
