  4. Karloos1 says:

^^^ Fuck you ^^^ You’ve never felt pressure anything close to being called the savior of a whole genre by many. Let the man take his damn time so shit can be up to his liking, dumb asses

  5. […] overkill. The only thing that would disappoint is it never coming out (*coughs* Detox). (Spotted: RR) Share & […]

  6. WhatsUpSon says:

I’ll get it whenever it arrives. I’m listening to the Victory mixtape right now.

  7. mac DIESEL says:

HE FORGOT TO MENTION HE’S LAZY AND JUST BLAZE IS TOO BUSY PLAYIN’ VIDEO GAMES WIT B. DOT AND HIS DOO-RAG!!!! HA!!!!

    DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!

  8. Lox says:

Lol @mac DIESEL, but I think he should just let the product speak for itself then go from there. Sidebar: wasn’t there posed to be a exhibit c vid?

  9. osh says:

  10. WhatsUpSon says:

@Lox Yeah there’s supposed to be one. I think Jay Elect said it was filmed in Nepal…

  11. mac DIESEL says:

    @ Lox

THIS NIGGA FEARS PUTTIN’ OUT A MIXTAPE??? ARE U FUCKIN’ SERIOUS??? SO HOW IT’S GONNA BE LIKE WHEN IT’S TIME TO DROP AN ACTUAL ALBUM??? CAN’T BELIEVE THIS NIGGA GOT FEAR AND SELF-ESTEEM ISSUES AT HIS GROWN ASS AGE!!!! HE’S STARTIN’ TO REMIND OF THAT NIGGA THE DREAM WIT HIS WEIRD ASS!!!! JUST PUT OUT ANYTHING U LAZY FUCK!!!!! HA!!!!

    DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!

  12. dashing says:

Just Blaze said he’s waiting on Jay Elect. If JB was lazy he wouldn’t have got 4 tracks on the Em album.

Honestly, there’s no need for pressure. Jay Elect’s nasty with the rhymes, Just Blaze is nasty with the beats. Just get Primo, Justice League, a Pete Rock cut, a RZA track (squash that beef) and some self-produced shit to supplement JB and the shit will be fire.

Put Nas, Mos Def, on there, Scarface, and a J Cole or a Wale and you str8.

    That’s my 2 Cents.

  13. JihaD says:

and a J Cole or a Wale and you str8.

    ^^

You were on a roll until you mentioned shitty ass Justice League and those two niggas right there. Jermaine has the charisma of a watermelon rind, and wale just sucks… I mean, flat out sucks…

    JihaD

  14. tguta says:

just blaze is lazy u herd dem tracks on em cd? that shit was hella wack. sample haddaway? nigga kill urself smh

  15. wizzyk49 says:

ACT II is gonna be dope as hell. I’m willing to wait on it if it means it’s as good as his last mixtape.

  16. Thank Me Hater says:

Jay Elect is dope as I put Renaissance Man on repeat

  17. Thank Me Hater says:

He is dope but if he gets this nervous puttin out a mixtape, it’s gonna be hell puttin out an album

  18. raul says:

i can assure u guys jay elect isnt lazy….he seems like the kinda artist stays working on the same shit all the time takes forever to make a rhyme ……very self consious!!!

  19. QUEENZ says:

Whenever he release it, Ima bump it and all the people on here talking shit is gonna bump it too. I love a perfectionist and JayElect has yet to let me down.

  20. Chris says:

Wow, if that’s he really feels then why doesnt he just quit rapping altogether? Come on man…
This is Dr. Dre Detox levels of complacency now.

  21. mac DIESEL says:

    @ QUEENZ

PERFECTIONISTS ARE AT LEAST CONFIDENT ABOUT THEIR WORK!!!! HE’S UNSURE OF HIS!!!! HE’S A TYPE OF NIGGA THAT CARES WUT PEOPLE SAY OR THINK ABOUT HIM!!!! HE GOT SELF-ESTEEM ISSUES BRUH!!!! HE’S NOT CONFIDENT ABOUT HIS WORK!!!! SO HE MAYBE A PERFECTIONIST TO YOU, BUT HE SURE AIN’T A CONFIDENT ONE!!!!

    DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!

  22. Dashing says:

    @ JihaD

If Justice League can make Rick Ross sound dope, imagine Jay Elect over one of their cinematic beats. I could have said Black Milk, 9th Wonder, and Dilla, but if he’s already got Just Blaze, Primo, Rza ,and his own production, he’s already got enough of the boom bap shit. I would add DJ Khalil too.

As for J. Cole and Wale, I just think he’d need some new blood on the joint too. And for the record, J. Cole and Jay Elect had the hottest verses on Talib Kweli’s “Just Begun.” Wale doesn’t usually kill it lyrically on his albums, but he has flashes of dopeness.

  23. Citylivin' says:

considering how album numbers are doing for rookie artists(excluding Drake) i doubt Jay is even worrying about an album. He’s putting his all in this mixtape prolly just to stay relevant, that’s just how it is #yeezyshrug. Example : Wiz Khalifa & Wale.

  24. HAHA says:

This mixtape was suppose to be out in 2007 and then in 2009 after they attempted to blame Nas for the delay back in Dec of last year and now in 2010 it’s he is scared. This dude is a liar and lazy ass artist. Jay Electronica is damn near 35 years old and he states he has been waiting his hold life for this and now he sscared this dude is going to be 50 before he releases his first album.

  25. Gordon B. says:

I dig what I’ve heard from Jay but I haven’t really been up to date on what he’s doing, I thought Act II was an album the way it’s been talked about, why the fuck does a dude take YEARS to put out a god damn mixtape, and now he says he’s afraid it’s not good enough?
Jesus fucking christ this guy needs to get a grip, grown ass man.

  26. Post no billz says:

Whatll come first act 2 or detox or armegeddeon.. My awnser is the latter

  27. MiloD says:

i take back my comment he was just being honest.. i bet a lot of big artist have the same thoughts.

  28. pissed says:

He’s a perfectionist..its just like any other art were you never feel like its your best work & it can always be improved upon or made better. Quality over quantity. But at the same time, he has yet to dissapoint really, so i think he should go ahead & release it because the fact of the matter is, he aint gonna please everybody. No artist can.

  29. Saul Goode says:

I called this months ago. I think Exhibit C was too big a record from him, and it overwhelmed him. Someone said earlier fame isn’t for everyone, I agree. When you can create in your own bubble under the radar it becomes a comfort zone, and when shit pops off you are afraid to rise to the occasion and deal with the scrutiny that will most definitely come after such a strong wave of hype.
I say Jay, “Drop that shit homie!” © Flava Flav voice

  30. SayAHHHHH says:

you 30 something and you JUST started rapping uhhhh!

  31. SOSOCHI says:

To SayAHHHHH. I wouldn’t give a shit if Jay Elec was 60 when he started rappin, this dude tears apart any piece of commercial trash you listen to.

Let’s all insult a rapper for being honest and trying to give the fans his best work. Smh,..

  32. Diaz says:

Ive been making music for a few years now and i have yet to fully release an ep or mixtape. 1st impressions are everything. Just like that he doesn’t want to dissapoint fans by half-assing his upcoming work because fans are very fickle.

  33. Ac@pella! says:

Well, if u scared and not ready for tha fame, move tha fuck over and give it 2 us otha niggaz that’s ready to live the famous life and get outta this hell hole we call the middle class. It’s plenty of cats with talent dying to be heard, like me, but we got attention suckin’ cats like this dude that’s too fuckin’ scared to put out what he SHOULD love to do…shoulda never recorded that got damn song if u think that was ur best effort…smfh…

  34. KnawledgeBorn says:

Say It aint so! see this is what the game has come to, talented dudes are scared to drop product cuz the tight jeans wearing cats is winning?even after that death of Christopher Wallace?

Peace, Follow The God on Twitter @KnawledgeBorn

  35. mmkayy says:

lmao there will always be ppl who are gonna like u & hate u… release the damn thing

  36. Your Father says:

    What a pussy!
This dude should just drop it, if the feedback is wack he should use the criticism for the next release.
    Life goes on.
If Tyga can still rap after Coconut Juice, I’m sure Jay Elec is more than capable of continuing after a wack release

  37. Ty says:

As much as I like Jay Elect as an artist I don’t buy this excuse. It’s not like we’re expecting him to reinvent himself or become somebody else……. we just want more of what he’s already been doin’. He can’t get in the lab and bang out some freestyles? I just don’t buy it.

Also if he is being honest, somebody needs to tell him the longer he takes the greater the expectations will become…. taking longer isn’t gonna lessen what people expect, just the opposite.

  38. MaG says:

ya’ll kill me man…ya’ll too used to these mixtape cats putting out music every two minutes. when clue and capri and doo wop and ron g. dirty harry and juice was putting out real mixtapes, cats like jay and nas and was dropping albums only…and once every year, if that! let the dude go thru his process. i want new jay elec music too but im willing to wait. aint got nuthin to do with laziness.

  39. Everybody Hates Chris says:

It’s refreshing to hear that he cares so deeply about his music and how it will be received. Unfortunately, someone needs to remind Jay Elec that risk and reward go hand in hand.

  40. DOOSO says:

PATIENCE. Would you rather him rush. Would you rather him say fuck it and just not release it. How many of you drop quality music on jay’s level. vultures.

  41. patience says:

i agree wit DOOSO. y’all some vultures.

plus, Act II IS his album. so fall back callin him a bitch for bein nervous, it shows he gives a shit what he gives to the people.

now the fact that we still waitin is a little dubious, but be encouraged by the DJ Semtex interview. Semtex has heard some of it and called it “diverse hip-hop excellence”. to me that is worth waiting for.
