G-Unit Records Signs With EMI

See, Craig Davis wasn’t completely off his rocker. Today it was announced that G-Unit Records have inked new deal with EMI. As the first order of business, the label plans to distribute Banks’ next album, Hunger For More 2 which drops November 23rd. To hear him tell it, the deal is a breath of fresh air:

“It’s refreshing to see the EMI staff excited about my project, they have the passion and energy I haven’t seen in while”.

Tony Yayo echoes the same sentiment:

“The EMI staff is creative and willing to think outside the box.  They are fans of my music and career.  I’m looking forward to marketing and promoting my upcoming album with them.”

  52. Da Hater says:

Take it easy on the HATE JUICE my brother@AK…To many HATERS on here. CONGRATS to G-UNIT !

  53. Nova says:

@mackmaine shyt my bad your correct

  54. PPL says:

Let me break it down for people.

EMI is part of the Big 4 Record labels that make up the term Major.

EMI is primarily a UK based record label but also operates in the U.S

    The big 4 labels are
    Universal
    EMI
    Sony BMG (AKA Columbia Records)
    Warner Music Group

Some of you might be like isn’t def jam and interscope considered a Major, well yes but the parent company is Universal for both those labels just different management.

So G unit distribution is going from Interscope to EMI, (from universal to EMI Group)

Now 50 cent still owes interscope another album, I don’t know if that will be original material or a Greatest hit type record.

As far as the shady/aftermath that was 50 cent’s deal and does not extend to G unit records. I’m not sure though if once interscope contact is fulfilled will 50 still be under shady/aftermath.

Either way its safe to say he still going to keep Chris Lighty (Violator Mgt) as his manager, so things are still going to run the same just with more support from the back end.

Budgets, promo, disc’s shipped out, album release dates, music videos etc.

  55. Black Shady says:

    congrats BANKS!

  56. jmarcroyal says:

  59. RECOVERY says:

Aslong as they make good music i don’t care which label signs them.

  60. Belize says:

Since Fif was on absolutely nothing on Recovery and BISD was a flop,
and because Dre was hardly on Recovery and Detox is never coming out,
and since Em worked with pop stars and had little Dre on his last album
(AND MIND YOU, I AM STILL A STAN!!!)
Aftermath is going down the toilet, if not already flushed.
WHAT IS THE MUSIC WORLD COMING TO!!!?!!!

  61. KAE Hock says:

@DamnDog Jesus and G-Unit dont really go together

  62. Poindexter says:
