  • R-1

I say a prayer and I look up in the sky,
I thank god even though a nigga headed to this tired day job,
Will my eyes stay wide still I know im gonna blow,
This is music for my niggaz cause I know you want mo,
Cause that old shits fake but this new shits real,
    J. cole not jay-z witness that blueprint feel,
Hey cole is you crazy that’s some big boots to fill,
Yea, straight out the ville and that shoe fits well
Seen heaven seen hell, seen niggaz get killed,
Knew every detail still never would tell,
Scared of the repercussion, scared of them people bustin,
Bullets be hitting niggaz you would swear they could be percussion,
Niggaz be holdin triggaz before they could read the instructions,
Oh god, never did our fathers teach us nothing,
No lord, I became a man on my own showed my mama I could stand on my own

  • Post no billz

J.cole is dope.. Yeah and sometimes the beats aint too great but to me it seems like hes one of those artists that makes the beat better and not vice versa..

  • UltraKid

“dope as usual… love that he’s “singing” his own hooks”

    WTF??? Don’t you guys hate on Drake for singing his own hooks?…oh well….haters are the biggest hyprocrites…{{I’M OUT}}

  • Brahsef

Beat could be better, but Cole is better than all the rest.

  • R-1

    verse2
    Dear mama your son hurting,
Livin in this cold world where niggaz shun virgins,
And praise hoes, as days goes by ,
    Shorty 19 years old,
no clothes for her baby yet she stays so fly,
tell me why mama do you cry,
Is it because you know my teacher be feeding me lies,
Is it cause you know that preacher is greedy inside,
Or cause racism is alive I see it disguised
Mama I know it hurts, It hurts me to watch you go to work,
Barely hanging on some rich man getting richer while you slaving for em,
So whats the options for em ,
A young nigga from the hood with out a pops at home,
Surrounded by no good assume no good becomes so good quick,
A little Drug money get em feelin so hood rich,
Killin yo hood wit the same shit Ronald Reagan filled up your hood wit,
And its still in yo hood shit,
Im feeling no good mama Im sick to my soul,
Is there a better life for us, I sit and I hope,
I just hope and pray It will change one day,
Ill will make it change one way, then mama Ill fly you out this cold world,
In this cold world this cold life, its all wrong there’s no right,
Its hard to see the good when there’s no light,
Just grab onto me, trust me, hold tight

    **reincarnated tupac…

  • fact

the singing with autotune gets annoying brah ^.

and this beat is dope, dunno wat yall talkin bout..

  • Belize

    Dope!

  • @ULTRA…..

drake sings on his verses and hooks. singing on hooks have been done by the greatest pac jay z etc

  • flawda

I’m a Cole fan from a mc perspective, i’m definetly not sold on his production, he is hit or miss.

  • UltraKid

    @fact,
Drake doesn’t use Auto-Tune all the time…and when he does use it it’s most due to the fact he can’t take his that far…kinda of like The-Dream or Ciara…not the best singers in the world but pretty good.

  • A Chick

That hook and production was on point!!!! He shoulda sold that joint to somebody.

  • Fucking awesome. Hook, verses and production. Handling his business.

    http://clintbeefman.wordpress.com

  • pifflighty da don

J.COLE IS THE NEXT BEST THING I PROMISED U!>>>READ MY CAPTION AND REMEMBER I SAID IT!…>COLE WORLD

  • UltraKid

    @flawda,
Damn, I love his production…I think he could use a co-producer and by himself he’s not on the level of other big name producers but he’s production is pretty good.

  • JDot

Man, this guy does not miss.

    Cole World!!!

  • supppppp

I’m liking his flow on the first verse. dope shit

  • Jackson

Everything this man makes is hotter than everything else out right now.

  • SERIOUSLY…

All these people praising j Cole has said the same thing about every hot for the moment artist that comes out…Drake, Nicki, Wayne, 50, Ja rule, T.I., Jeezy & J Electronica and then after they album hits the shelf ya’ll shit on them. J Cole is good but watch when his album comes out…he won’t even hold the interest that he does to you right now. It will be on to the next one!

  • flawda

    @ Ultrakid

When i listen to his beats, some of them sound like they are missing some soul and a smoothness (he reminds me of Eminem production wise). He has potential, but he is definetly rough around the edges. i’m glad he is working with NO ID. Hopefully these leaked tracks are the older tracks that he said he saved for his album, i would hate for production to ruin his album. I do like some tracks though like Premeditated Murder, Simba, On top of the world, etc.

  • iam2smoothdI..Ma

    J.Cole u boutta “blow up”“it won’t be long”====>Cole World!!!

  • mr.good

damn, this kid deserves way more than he is getting now… all in due time Mr. Cole

  • jordanyroc

He did an interview a while back n revealed 3 songs that made the album… “Won’t Be Long” produced by himself, “Never Told” produced by No ID n “Wet Dreams”… So, I’m guessing this joint it’s supposed to be on the album unless he takes it off because it leaked… Great track by the way, love the subject matter

  • mr.good

@R-1 Damn right, everytime I listen to Cole, Tupac pops up

  • MiloD

b.dot i got that mixtape and that track aint on it “problems” is on that tape

  • Stop

I dont think he is lyrically where he is on his production

  • goodgoddamn

Ya’ll crazy what’s wrong with the production? Are you insane why cause it got a gazillion hi hats and isht ? Fuck outta here this is crack! Do you hear what he sayin? This on some Pac theme isht nobody and I mean NOBODY adresses isht like this no more (meaning new artists correction Wale jumps on some of these themes like Diary etc…) That’s what I hate with Hip-Hop music a cat is not allowed to be multifaceted if he rap first and peeps find out he produces then they got somethin to say about the beats and vice versa (IE Kanye) Can’t peeps just enjoy a song without fuckin dissecting every detail yet Gucci can exist SMDH. Keep doin it Cole i’ma be bumpin this hard thank God for artists like him.

  • D

this dude about to be a problem…

  • R y a n

    J. Cole is dope.

  • goodgoddamn

oh yeah and just to kick up dust :

    J.cole >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Drake

Say whateva the fuck you want it’s the truth and i’m not talkin about who makes more “money” cause at the end of the day you gotta take it to the music. I ride with the underdog cause this kid GRINDS without any big names yellin his name 24/7

  • Iceyjesse

    @ MiloD

  • GTFO

Good Track. Leave Drake out of it. Let the man shine.

nice track. Beats alittle off but the lyrics make up for it. The album is gunna be fire

  • ON SUM 2PAC SHYT i love this dude great lyrics and beat

  • yerrr

another great track from j. cole … Cole World should be crazy, it wont disappoint

  • The only thing Cole needs to work on is his hooks, but i aint complaining cuz he is the ONLY person i listen to at this point, and u gotta give him credit he makes whole songs by his damn self. When u can write lyrics/hook, make a beat, AND mix & master the track…..u deserve major props. Only his fans understand how hard he grinds n hard work pays off.

  • mac DIESEL

LYRICS WAS ON POINT BUT THE PRODUCTION WAS KINDA WEAK FOR ME!!!!! AND HE NEED TO TWEAK THE HOOKS A LITTLE MORE!!!! A HOOK CAN GO A LONG WAY!!!! KEEP DOIN’ YA THING J. COLE!!!!

    DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!

  • Black Shady

This nigga is just …always on point!!!

This is one album I will DEFINITELY cop!

  • Magic

how the fuq is the production weak? this is on some soulful kanye shit, ya all must be very critical producers or somethin cuz i see ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM OR FLAWS WITH THIS TRACK AT ALL

  • red

real talk… he’s on some tupac lyricial shit…. ghostwriting for him or sumthin…. i get that 2pac feeling off him man…. if you read the lyrics, its some real talk. No punchline bullshit….. mayonaise you gotta catch-up bullshit ahahahahah. lil wayne bullshit….. the hype is over, lets get back to the real deal…. no philosophy crap from nas or lupe, just some real talk askin his momma things he see in the streets 😛 …

  • B.

    J. Cole said on his ustream that the actual song sounds way better production wise. This leaked version is unfinished.

  • JP

    J. cole’s album is looking real promising. Dude is bringing straight heat!!

  • no one should criticize his production!!!

No one in this blog is fucken qualified to criticize his prodcution.. Ya niggas always try to find something wrong with his music.. He needs to work on this and that lol average joes shut the fuck up.. Only people qualified to criticize his shit no I’d, kanye switz dre real music artist who have hits under their belts, not ^ nobodys who don’t know music

  • RedRocBoy

  • Doc Shay

This whole track is FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!as a producer myself the production is amazing ,its got a bit of a different feel but at the same time its familiar…this joint is classic material imo….

  • rap radar= hater heaven

cole world nigga..and plz leave drake out of it , stop comparing the two its getting old, they have completely different styles

  • IMO

Cole do ya thing…We’re waiting on that album..

  • *Da Boss*

Music for the soul Cole… Respect and love me bredda.
We need more artiste like you in the industry cause ur the real reason I listen to Rap/Hip Hop/R&B Music (whatever y’all class his music as) anymore…
*killing your hood with the same shit Ronald Reagon filled up your hood with
and it’s still in your hood shit* Crazy line my dude…

  • Young Mo Fo

Good shit.. And i agree wit mac DIESEL on that. Hooks do go a long way, but some rappers do well without them. Jay-Z didnt always use rapped or sung hooks

  • ARon

this dude has YET to disappoint me lyrically and production wise.

  • Belize

Dope. Drop the album before erryone forgets about you.

  • Lu

I am seriously a J.Cole fan…. I am not too impressed with the production on this….Its okay… A form of reference should be losing my balance from his critically acclaimed mixtape. That was a very well produced song despite being sampled from Sara Tavares. It was still dope…. This is okay for his standards… His lyrical content was razor sharp as always. Looking forward to his album….Hollywood Cole is here…

  • james
  • LadyBee

@goodgoddamn….lmao at the j.cole>>>>>drake….J.cole is tight but come on now…He and Drake have two different things going on…Both are mad talented and the only reason ppl ain’t hollering his name every two seconds is cuz he still coming up..I root for the underdogg too, but he ain’t No underdogg!…People should stop pitting J.Cole and Drake against each other cuz theres room for everybody …..we just need real hip hop =)
