Before the sun went down on the DMV leg of Rock The Bells this past Sunday, it was only right that Wiz brought out the area’s own Wale to perform “The Breeze (Cool)” off More About Nothing. Stop sideline hatin’.

The females in the Hip Hop game may not get the props that they deserve, but tonight BET premiered their music documentary, My Mic Sounds Nice: A Truth About Women In Hip Hop. The doc featured many female MCs including MC Lyte, Yo Yo, Missy, Trina, Rah Digga and more. Catch the rest of the show after the jump.

B.Dot’s not online so we’re slipping this through. Jermaine’s preparing to release his upcoming mixtape, I Think I’m Berry Gordy this Labor Day weekend and with this latest freestyle, he takes a crack at the Teflon Don track. I think she hates it.

Earlier this month, Cube announced Dr. Dre was missing in action and would not be included on I Am The West. Earlier today, Cube tells 1515 that he completely understands the Doc’s absence. Under pressure, huh?
“I didn’t get a chance to work with Dre on this record. He’s been M.I.A. for two to three months now. But I don’t feel bad, because Snoop can’t find him either. I think, really, it’s because people expect so much from him. People expect, when Dre does a record, it [will] change the trajectory of music. Not just be an album and it come out and be good. It has to come and take us in a different direction. And that’s a lot of pressure.”

Earlier we got the first leak off Asher and Nottz’ The Rawth EP and now Illusive Media drops off some photos during the shoot of their first video At the playground ya know? Strike a midget pose with more flicks after the jump.
During her Rock The Bells shows, L-Boogie caught a lot of flack for performing her Miseducation classics at different tempos. Well at the 1:48 mark, the 1515 Boys got the scoop on why she decided to switch the style up. Hey one can understand, that doesn’t mean we agree. Ha!
“There’s been such a long period of time where I haven’t been able to communicate where my mind is, where my consciousness is, where my ideas are, I have to upgrade them a bit so that they’re still exciting and fresh and they’re new. There’s something almost jazz-like the way I approach performances. I’m not sure if the audience really understands. We need, or at least I need, a certain amount of spontaneity, a certain amount of improvisation every show. I might have gotten spoiled from the Fugee days. We used to improvise a lot. It kept it so fresh and exciting. I need that. I need that improvisational, almost jazz-like improvisational dynamic when I’m onstage. It keeps it so exciting. It’s that unknown, that literal X factor that makes every show something different — something unique and something I want to continue to do.”
Today on 106 & Park, the Queen stopped by to plug her upcoming tour and at the 4:45 mark brought out her opening acts. The fun kicks off Oct 2. Save up for some tickets.
