Its a video that depicts people who’ve contributed to the bettering of humanity.(the pictures in the video are of all types of people not just black) Public Enemy’s message seems needed now more than ever in Hip Hop. 14. ironic says:

not for nothin’, but it is really disturbing that you, bdot, would potentially catch flack for posting a PE vid when 80% of the shit you post here is from artists who are saying little of substance…this is not so much about yn’s wackness, but rather the state of hip hop (related) media and society, in general…lotta work to be done, yo and not gonna happen here

  15. MATIC says:

I LOVE THE CLASSIC/ ORIGINAL LOOK. I WONDER WHO DIRECTED THE VIDEO.

  17. 3pk says:

We have all just heard what “RAP MUSIC'”, should look and sound like. Hard and real.
Personally, if you were around during the MODERN DAY MASSACRE OF BLACK PEOPLE(late 80’s to present), YOU LIKE ME SHOULD FEEL MORE AT HOME WITH THE WORD RAP VS. THE TERM, HIP HOP. This is part one of two, hope u feelin what u hearing!!

Follow me close…absorb…Allow what I’m about to say, to marinate.
The day’s of just being a rapper, who create’s Rap music, was modified largely by mainstream media as well as the music industry itself. But, what’s in a title name describing a certain type or genre of music? Well, first and foremost is ORIGINALITY! RAPPER’S ARE REAL, AND THE TERM RAP, I BELIEVE IS IT’S MOST ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION. I AM AWARE OF THE EARLY REFERENCE TO THE TERM HIP HOP. MOST WOULD ASSOCIATE IT’S POPULARITY, WITH THE SUGAR HILL GANG. My point is, I understand the relation bteween the two, but only one represents the original concept. It had always been my understanding that”hip hop” dealt more with the culture underneath the sound…BUT TODAY, THAT TERM HAS RUINED RAP MUSIC!!

FOLLW ME CLOSE, KEEP READING OK…..I’M TRYIN TO SEE WHO SEE’S ME HERE!

I’M 38 NOW, and I remember those day’s when our hopeless way’s caused many of our black brothers to lie, steal, n kill all in the name of a dollar. The drug’s, drive by’s…U KNOW WHAT I’M SAYIN….AT THAT TIME THE MASS MEDIA MADE SURE THE LAST OUNCE OF ANY PRIDE ANYONE BLACK COULD HAVE, WOULD BE DESTROYED EVEN FURTHER(than it alredy had), by depicting and exploiting black people as the PRIMARY CRIMINAL of the society at large. IN RETURN WE MADE FUNERAL HOMES RICHER, FILLED UP THE PEN’S, LOST OUR NEIGHBORHOODS TO MOSTLY IMMIGRANTS(who saw a chance to get in, work, and do better) Nothing against immigrants personally, but while the brother man was dying N gettin sent away, the immigrants were comin up in what was your old neighborhood!! NOW A BLACK PERSON IS EVEN MORE OF AN OUTCAST IN AN AREA HE’S LIVED 20 OR MORE YEARS!!
EVEN WORSE THAN ALL OF THAT IS A GENERATION DESTROYED BY DOPE, NO HOPE, AND NO FAMILY WITH A DAD IN IT. SO NOW WE FAST FORWARD….

DURING THIS TIME FRAME(LATE80’S TO LATE 90’S),THE MEDIA EXPLOITATION ALONE WAS SO F’N OBVIOUS, IT WAS SICK! THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN,SOMEONE DECIDES IT’S TIME US, “DECENT”, BLACK FOLKS DON’T GET CAUGHT UP, SO LET’S PUSH THE GOVERNMENT TO ADD AFRICAN AMERICAN TO OUR ENTHNIC DESCRIPTION. WOW THANK’S!! THAT TERM HAS REALLY HELPED UP RIGHT? WE even stopped sayin nigger to…RIGHT? LOL!!! PERSONALLY I was just fine with Black! I just believe we can be no more definitive, than how we define ourselves. FAST FORWARD AGAIN…

THE MEDIA ALONG WITH INDUSTRY AND GOVERNMENT WAS MAD AT RAP MUSIC, IT’S POSSIBLE INFLUENCE ON OTHER’S(OUTSIDE OF BLACKS), BUT MOST OF ALL THE RAPPER HIM OR HERSELF.THEN WHEN PAC N BIG GOT KILLED, ALL OF THE FORCES SEEMINGLY PUT RAP AND RAPPERS TO DEATH. IT APPEARED RAP MUSIC HAD TO BE REDEFINED BY DEFINITION, CONTENT AND ARTIST. THAT EVIL WORD STARTED TO BECOME THE SAFE WAY TO PRESENT RAP MUSIC, HIP HOP WAS IT’S NAME!

    PART TWO ON THE…WAY!!!

  18. MissLadyD says:

    I also cosign with B-monster
Tell ’em Brother 3pk; you’re speaking nothing but truth…waiting on part 2

  19. CabriniGreeny says:

Hip-Hop needs more of this. So does RapRader….YN

  20. 3pk says:

OK.. i’m gonna attempt to shed some more real light on this HIP HOP, VS RAP THEORY OF MINE. PART TWO:
SAY WHAT U WILL BELIEVE WHAT U WILL, BUT THE TERM HIP HOP WAS AMERICA’S ACCEPTANCE OF RAP MUSIC, BUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH KEEPING RAP AS THE PRIMARY NAME FOR THE MUSIC ITSELF? WE OR(SOME) OF US WHO JUST LOVE THE MUSIC DIDN’T EVEN BLINK…BECAUSE ONCE HIP HOP BECAME APART OF POP MUSIC, ALL WE COULD SEE AND TALK ABOUT WAS THE MONEY AND THE THINGS IT BOUGHT. RAPPER’S HAVE ALWAYS TALKED ABOUT THE HIGH LIFE AND HAVING A PLACE IN IT, BUT THEY WERE NEVER ACCEPTED INTO THE BUSINESS THAT MUSIC CREATES. UP UNTIL THE LATE 90’S, A CD AND A SHOW WAS PRETTY MUCH ALL A RAPPER COULD SELL.

SO HERE COME’S FUBU, KARL KANI, CROSS COLOURS, AND OTHERS WHO SAW THE BRIDGE BETWEEN SELLING MUSIC OR SELLING WHATEVER YOU WANT! HIP HOP PRODUCED DIDDY,SO IN RETURN HE GAVE US ONE OF THE LAST FEW PROUD RAPPER’S NOTORIOUS BIG….BUT WHETHER U LIKE DIDDY OR NOT, HE’S A HUGE PORTION OF THE BRANDING AND EXPANSION OF HIP HOP ARTISTS MAKIN MILL’S OFF THNGS OUTSIDE OF MUSIC. SOME OF US DON’T EVEN REALIZE SEAN JOHN IS AS POPULAR AS POLO WAS IN 1981 AND IN SOME MARKETS IT’S THE DOMINANT BRAND. YET ASK URSELF, WHEN A HIP HOP ARTIST RAPS ABOUT CLOTHING, THE USUAL REFERENCE IS POLO…I’M NOT SAYIN THEY SHLD BE SAYIN SEAN JOHN!!! I’M SAYIN, POLO WAS THE ORIGINAL CONCEPT OF HIGHEND SPORT CASUAL WEAR, AND POLO, NAUTICA N HILFIGER MADE TON’S ON BLACK’S. WE DID WHAT WE DID UNTIL WE HAD OTHER CHOICES, BUT IN THEORY POLO STILL HAS THE MAJORITY ON LOCK BASED ON A LONGER REPUTATION. AGAIN ORIGINALITY IS THE KEY. SO WHY FUCK WITH THE ORIGINAL CONCEPT?

PUBLIC ENEMY IS A RAP GROUP. PRIMARILY BECAUSE RAP SPEAKS OF A CONDITION AND A SOLUTION. MODERN DAY HIP HOP WAS A SUCCESSFULL PLOY TO MAKE RAP MUSIC, POPULAR MUSIC. WHILE SOFTENING AND CONTROLLING THE BETTER INTENTIONS OF THE ARTIST MAKING IT. A HIP HOP CAT IS HARDLY MUSICAL IN KNOWLEDGE(50). HIP HOP CAT’S MAKE THERE MUSIC BASED ON A PRECONCEIVED OUTCOME(LET’S MAKE SURE MY CD HAS A GOOD CLUB BANGER ON IT) WHEN A RAPPER KNOW’S THE WHOLE CD IS A CLUB BANGER!! A HIP HOP CAT MAKES 3 MIXTAPES, GIVES HIS CD 3 RELEASE DATE’S, TELL’S U ALL OF THIS 3 MONTHS IN ADVANCE, RELEASES THREE SINGLES BEFORE THE STREET DATE, THEN WHEN U FINALLY GO GET IT, U FIND OUT THOSE 3 SINGLES ARE IT THE REST IS CASIO LEVEL TRASH(OOH HARSH!!) EVEN WORSE THAN ALL OF THAT, 3 DAYS AFTER YOU BUY THIS CD, THIS FOOL WILL RELEASE 3 “NEW” SONGS ONLINE..AND MAY EVEN SAY THEY WERE RECORDED 3 HOURS AGO!!!! LMAO….PART 3 COMIN…I AINT DONE YET!

  21. I WAS SOO EXCITED WHEN I SEEN THE POST…AND I THOUGHT IT WAS AN OLDER VIDEO…WHY IN THE HELL WOULD YN BE MAD AT CHU FOR THIS ONE…!!!

  22. 3pk says:

IN PART 3….U BE THE JUDGE.

WOULD U EVER CALL SNOOP DOG, ICE T, ICE CUBE, OR 2 PAC, HIP HOP ARTIST’S?
HEEEEEEEEEEELL NAW, BECAUSE THESE FEW ARE EXAMPLES OF RAPPERS WHO HAVE ALWYS REPRESENTED RAP MUSIC. HAVE ANY OF THE BENEFITED FROM THE BLING BLING ERA….UUGH YEA!! DOUGH BOY….MADE ARE WE THERE YET….? NONE OF US COULD HAVE PREDICTED THAT SHIT IN A MILLION YEARS!!! ICE T A COP? THE SAME ICE T, WHO HAD A METAL BAND, WITH A TRACK NAMED COP KILLER ON IT’S DEBUT RELEASE.
AGAIN, THE POINT IS STAYIN TRUE AND ORIGINAL. THIS IS WHY THE CHANGE CAME. FOR RAP TO BECOME POPULAR UNDER THE TERM HIP HOP IS STILL A GREAT THING. IT’S NOT LIKE WE HAVE OUR OWN STEVE JOB’S FROM APPLE. SO THE RAPPERS ACCEPTED HIP HOP AS THE WAY TO THE PROMISE LAND…BUT FOR ME A RAPPER IS ATTITUDE OVER STYLE. PAIN OVER PLEASURE. LIKE P.E. HE STILL SAY’S WHAT NEED’S TO BE SAID, N UNDERSTAND ME WHEN I SAY, CRISTAL CHAMPAGNE IS RELIEVED TO NOT HEAR US PROMOTING THERE SHIT, BECAUSE THEY NEVER EVEN MADE 200 CHAMPAGNE WITH BLACK FOLKS IN MIND! SAME GOES FOR THE FOLKS OVER AT MAYBACH(RICK ROSS), I DO LOVE SOME OF RICK’S WORK..BUT RAPPING UNDER AN ALIAS IS ONE THING, BUT NAMING UR COMPANY AFTER A CAR UR BLACK ASS PROLLY CAN’R FIT IN IS DUDUDUDUMB!!!
HIP HOP COULD DO WAY BETTER LYRICALLY….MUSICALLY THERE IS A LOT OUT THERE….
BUT WE NEED SOME MORE P.E’S AND PAC’S….NOT COPY CATS, BUT NEW BLOOD THAT CAN SPEAK BEYOND SHOPPING AND VAGINAL CONQUEST’S..NIGGA WE ALL LIKE PUSSY LOL!

3PK DTOWN BABY! TEXAS FOREVER!!!!! RIP:SRV, DIMEBAG, AND A REAL RAPPER GONE TOO SOON PIMP C.(ONLY THE MUSICALLY DIVERSE WILL KNOW WHO SRV N DIMEBAG ARE.) YOUTUBE THEM!

  23. VerseCutta says:
