On Trill O.G.‘s track number four, you can hear Drake spit “I got 100 girls in each phone/ Drizzy Drake mane, Young Sweet Jones,” in reference to the late Pimp C. Drizzy tells 1515 that those lyrics have ruffled a few feathers when taken out of context.
“It’s just seeing a bit of them in myself; by no means did I mean to offend. I heard it was somebody upset about me making that reference. I think it was somebody in his family or something. But I never mean any disrespect. I love rap. Young Sweet Jones is just a little nickname. People really started calling me that before I ever said it in a rap song. I used to rep for Houston so hard. Truthfully,no one knows if Pimp would’ve like Drake or not,so for alot of ppl to automatically assume that he wouldnt have,cant be the truth. Obviously Drake is heavily influenced off of Texas music and I think Pimp would of appreciated that alone. The fact that a dude out of Canada can make a DJ Screw like song(november 18th) shows how widespread TX music has become.
Pimp had a problem with rappers who were straight up liars and as far as I can tell,Drake pretty much stays in his lane content wise. But his content is NOTHING like Pimp’s so I seriously dont think he should go around calling himself “Young Sweet Jones”. Blame Bun for even letting that happen lol.

Drake has been running around underground since like 2004 when Room for Improvement dropped. He did a lot of work with Little Brother and was and is affiliated with ATF. Drake did do the circuit and pay his dues he lucked out on the Wayne association but he did the rounds. No less he says the Sweet Jones line on Bun’s song. If anybody was going to be like “Yo don’t say that” it would be Pimp C’s riding partner for the last couple decades. If he’s cool it’s a non-issue.
