MTV’s Hottest MCs Debate At Rap Radar Mansion

[vodpod id=Video.4713872&w=425&h=350&fv=autoplay%3Dfalse%26amp%3Blocale%3Den_US]

My dude Shaheem Reid, who recently left MTV News as the Hip Hop Editor, stopped by the RR Mansion yesterday to discuss this year’s controversial Hottest MCs List. B.Dot and I picked his brain about the reasoning behind the absence of Em from last year’s list and we attempt to put our own lists together of who we think is rockin’ the mike right in 2010. Pardon the technical difficulties in the first seven minutes and enjoy a really deep hip-hop discussion. Listen close, kids. You might learn something.

  2. Kenny says:

LOL @ word. The stream was fun guys!

  3. Haters are annoying--> Android, Mac Weasel, Lucas and others says:

waka should not be on the list lol

  4. Belize says:

I’d go to a Rap Radar Mansion haha.
I think the list is shit. MTV don’t know shit. Just listin the 10 hottest of the past 9 months.
    Em gonna be #1 cuz
A.) He obviously the best alive.
    B.) He obviously the GOAT.
C.) Just cuz he released ANOTHER dope album every-fucking-body wants to jump on his dick again! foh sons!

  5. BIG CHUMP says:

@Word LMFAO! *passes out from joke

  6. Android says:

    l0l @belize_ 150%stan mode.

Aye YN do ur own RR list. Those mtv dudes are clowns.

  7. Rap says:

These guys are idiots. And this list is retarded. And MTV doesn’t care about MC’s. Listening to these guys talk, I don’t really think they do either. Rap sucks now, and it’s people like these so-called experts that made it that way, giving passes to people who have done nothing for the progression of the art form.

  8. SHADY says:

    This List is all wrong!
where the fuck is Justin Biever, Waka, B Pumper, 50Tyson, Soulja Boy, Susan Boyle, Ricky martin!!!?
Ooooooooooh. This isn’t MTV. I forgot! HA!!!

  9. The Other P says:

    Lmfao @ Word.

I still don’t believe the rumors about B.Dot sleeping on YN’s couch while stealing wifi from the neighbors.

  10. toad3527 says:

@rap i think these people here are at the forefront of the hip hop community right now myself, who do you think should be the brain trust that decides who the hottest rappers are?

  11. Rap says:

One of those dudes was swearing by Gucci Mane. C’mon now. I understand that he is hot right now, but how the fuck did he get to be considered hot. People like these guys co-signing him.

  12. ctg says:

    ctg’s top ten

    10. Lloyd Banks – resurrected his career via an independent single that went gold
    09. Fabolous – dropped a mixtape so hot it was released as an EP
    08. Jay-Z – bodied several features, “On To The Next One” had an effect
    07. Waka Flocka Flame – 3 crazy singles that can’t be denied
    06. Lil’ Wayne – it’s like he never went to jail. lots of features and “I’m Single” was popular
    05. Eminem – only dude moving units. had a major career renaissance.
    04. Drake – had dope singles but kinda dissappointed with the album. seems to be losing buzz
    03. Nicki Minaj – features galore, built a crazy buzz. has a highly anticipated album.
    02. Rick Ross – owned the summer, dropped a dope album & mixtape. big meech!
    01. Kanye West – the most interesting figure in rap and arguably all of music. G.O.O.D. Friday series has kept him hot.

Honorable mention: Ludacris, Wiz Khalifa, Curren$y, Gucci Mane, Bun B, Big Boi, Fat Joe, T.I., Young Jeezy, Pusha T

  13. phil4real says:

anyone know the name of that Fab song playing right in the beginning?!? shit sounds fuego

  14. Rap says:

He should be considered a gimmick, just like Hammer and Vanilla Ice were. Nobody took them serious, let alone put them on anybodys hottest MC’s list. Rap is wrestling. Retards get caught up in the gimmicks of them all and then you see em holding up signs at their shows and shit, screaming at the top of their lungs.

  15. toad3527 says:

oh, ok i agree rap i like the points you make, you make more points then kevin durant

  16. Android says:

Nw CTG gets it. Banks n fab in. 1 n 2 spot on, dnt giv a shit abt 3-7. Swap nas for a camel in tho.

  17. Belize says:

    @ ctg:
    Onika and Aubrey before Eminem?
    What you on????

  18. Rap says:

eminem isn’t very good anymore… jump off the great white hypes nuts

  19. Isiah Bradley says:

The mere fact that MTV has a voice in hip hop clearly proves why the direction of hip hop needs to be realigned. This is what happens when money getting /swag takes the spotlight from having talent

  20. Rap says:

Isiah Bradley knows what he is talking about

  21. ctg says:

    @Belize

Nicki and Drake are more popular than Eminem. Of course Eminem is a better rapper.

  22. Belly says:

    my top 10
    1. Eminem
    2. Nicki
    3. Kanye
    4. Rick Ross
    5. Drake
    6. Lil Wayne

  24. Delejayn says:

How the fuck is Jay Z top 5……..Em did more last year than he did this year and em didnt make it but jay does…thats bullshit…..and Wayne gotta be on the list……

    1. Eminem (Biggest year of any music artist….not just rap)
    2. Nicki ( come one who bigger that fucking nicki with no album plus bill board records)
    3. Drake ( you can’t compare someone with an album to someone without…..Sprite, Kodak, Platinum album, face on a plane….lets be real
    4. Rick Ross ( My Album of the Year, Summer Anthem of the YEar)
    5. Kanye (G.O.O.D Fridays but lets be real power didnt do so well on the charts plus his album isnt out yet so he get that last position in the top five
    6. Wayne ( No ceilings, responsible for two of the top five, Free Weezy Movement)
    7. Banks
    8. Fab
    9. B.O.B
    10. J Cole

  25. phil4real says:

anyone know the name of that Fab song playing right in the beginning? shit sounds fuego

  26. BLACK 777 says:

  27. Post no billz says:

^i think its the posse cut joe budden dropped yesterday..

  28. BIG CHUMP says:

    YN’s list from video 1.kanye 2.nicki 3.jay 4.eminem 5. drake

yo YN why do you have jay ahead of EMinem this year lol last i checked EM put a album out in 2010 and jay didnt, lol nicki ahead of eminem, i think drake and eminem is top 3 and kanye is debatable

  29. Word says:

    @Rap and @BLACK77

Umm, I dont wanna question your intelligence and your ability to read, but yall do know this a HOTTEST MCs list right? Not a best, not a “your personal favorite”, but HOT. Yall do know what HOt means in Hip Hop right? It means, who is lighting up the airwaves on the radio, who is topping the charts, who is raking in the sales, features, digital buzz (twitter and blog sites) and so on. Yall can say Em fell off, thats yall opinion, but was he hottest? I hear Em on radio stations now (that aint never happen), two billboard number ones, highest debut week (prolly from now till forever) Almost 2 million followers on twitter, and all Ems posts get like 1000 comments on sites just like this (whether its hate or stanning) of course he number one, and I aint even touch on his mic skills cuz it dont matter…its BUZZ! Like a Bee nigga, you know what a Bee is….right?

Anyway, imma debate the list cuz its fun IMO, but I dont really let the list get to me like some of yall…its just peoples opinion, oh people cant have opinions now?

  30. toad3527 says:

my man Isiah Bradley speaks the truth, no more to say on this one……

  31. Drucifer says:

These lists are a joke anyway, who cares??

  32. toad3527 says:

@word you never heard eminem on the radio before this album? you dont remember when that 8 mile came out and all they were playing was that song from the soundtrack? you dont remember the hi my name is, you dont remember stan, you dont remember basically every song from his greatest hits album getting radio play? eminem has to be the most played out artist in the history of radio….

as for your definition of HOT, i did not know that radio play and HOT meant the same thing…this is hip hop we are talking about here, jay electronica is in reality the hottest emcee in the game right now, not cause of any radio spins or followers on twitter, but because he is what is on the lips of every Hip Hop Head right now, to me that is the real definition of HOT

  33. still best rite now!! says:

1.Amaya is a fkn dude?? RR & RR Mansion is a sausage party!! where’s the bunnies!?

    2. I cant believe i watched this whole thing..but i can sit around & talk hiphop all day! good shit yall

3.Luda “he’s more of an emcee, than alot of Southern artist”
    exactly why he’s overrated!!

    4. ppl look past tense at Eminem last year..yeah relapse was platinum. But as soon as I heard that shit..i knew it was the worst Em album ever!!! And he agreed in so many words.

  34. toad3527 says:

@word- you said that aint never happen before? really? really? really? eminem never got radio play before? really? really though?

  35. E.P says:

10 Waka Flocka (hate the guy but three huge singles)
9 Fabolous (mixtape and killing features)
8 Lloyd Banks (Lots of hype around him right now)
7 B.o.B (BOB is bigger than 8-10 on a national level. Three monster singles and a number one album)
6 Jay-Z (killing features, co-headlined Home And Home)
5 Rick Ross (huge anthem, dope album, not of the year though. Regardless, he stays winning.
4 Drake (huge debut album, still relevant as hell)
3 Nicki Minaj (Tons of features and highly anticipated album)
2 Eminem (huge comeback. Biggest selling artist in music period at the moment. Not Afraid/Love The Way You Lie are possibly the two biggest singles of the year AND the number one songs in the country by the same artist. Only hip hop artist to do that this year. Recovery>Thank Me Later & Teflon Don, quality and quanity. Only Big Boi’s album could match it this year (on a major level). Think any different you’re talking out of your ass.)
1 Kanye West (highly anticpated album and GOOD Fridays puts him in this spot. Biggest thing in hip hop right now and arguably the hottest producer at the moment as well. Only his album will rival Em’s & Big Boi’s on a major scale.

I could see Nicki above Em because of her monsterous number of features which keeps her extremely relevant, but not Drake, Ross or even Jay.

Drake and Ross had huge albums but nowhere near Em’s in quality, quanity, sales, singles, nothing.

And Jay, had his year in 09′. On To The Next One and Young Forever were released as singles this year and were big but not currently. He did the show with Em and that’s what matters most for him. Yes, he killed his features recently (Power Remix, So Appalled, Free Mason & Monster) but those aren’t enough to place him above the man (or even Ross and Drake who did more this year) who put out the biggest hip hop album of 2010.

And for the record, Em’s feature on Airplanes 2>any of Jay’s. Could possibly rival Nicki’s on Monster though..

  36. toad3527 says:

@ word man you really never heard eminem on the radio before this album? you really think that radio spins is what “HOT” means? really son? You really didnt here eminem on the radio before this album? really? man…..

    really?

  37. Black Shady says:

Is B.Dot the nigga with the du-rag???? nigga said Wiz and Gucci in his list. SMH…….
YN saying Banks’ career was dead???? shit nigga only listen to radio or some shit?
maybe mainstream he wasnt there….but he was still killin the mixtapes son…

  39. toad3527 says:

really though? you really never heard eminem on the radio?

  40. Word says:

    @toad3527

Nigga, whats with all the damn comments? And yes, radio means your on EVERBODIES mind, not just hip hop heads. What the fuck has Jay Elect been doing last few months? He aint hot, he cold. He nice on the mic, but we aint talking mic skills. We talking bout, who is being seen by the PUBLIC, not just the HIP HOP community. Feel me? And no, I never heard Stan on the radio, or Hi My Name is, never ever. I dunno what radio you listen to…back then Em didnt even chart well. Lose Yourself is is first number 1. His second one? Crack a Bottle, years later…Em only just became a chart topper and radio nigga. He never was before, more importantly though….why the fuck doe sit botheer you so much I never heard him on radio? Lmao you posted like 5 times.

  41. Rap says:

    @word
You never heard EM on the radio before this album?? Anyway, the point I’m makin is that it’s fags like word that give wack rappers passes allowing them to be perceived as “hot.” You tellin me that they aren’t cramming mainstream airwaves with half-retard mufuckas that you would have normally clowned in your HS english class. C’mon word. Only way you can say these guys have any type of appeal is if you were one of those people gettin clowned. There is obviously a market for retards to scream on a beat or else they wouldn’t be making music. The question I’m asking is why is there a market for retards to scream on a beat, and its people like word that fully support that shit.

  42. Rap says:

Can the rest of this message board let word know that EM has been all over the radio since his first major LP? You’re losin credibility pretty fast word, pretty fast.

  43. Word says:

    @Rap

LMAO You upset nigga? Aww, I didnt know you would take it to heart. I’m sorry kid, didnt mean to offend you.

Lemme say this then, if I WERE TO HAVE A LIST, Big Boi, Cole, Banks, Fab, Joell Ortiz, Joe Budden, Eminem, Kanye, Jay Z, Royce Da 5’9, BoB and Janelle Monae would be on it (Roots also, if i had space) thats if I were to have a list. But this aint my list, and this aint a skills competition. Stop taking things to heart, stress is hard on the body…and you seem stressed. Drink some water my nigga.

And no, for the last time, never heard Em on the radio. EVER! Did I mention I listen to radio bout 5% of my month? Maybe that has something to do with it. I play the songs on my iPhone, and back then I listened to CDs and shit. Thank you very much

  44. Word says:

And will the board let @Rap know that he needs to get a job lol this nigga said im losing credibility like I care what people on a BLOG SITE think about my SCREEN NAME. I could change my screen name and you niggas wouldnt know the difference.

  45. still best rite now!! says:

    @Word

I feel what u were sayin…Eminem has been on Urban radio this year more than any other time in his whole career!! Forever, Airplanes, Love the way you lie, etc. I live in a predominantly black city, and b4 this year it was hella rare to hear Em. now its the norm. Paul Rosenberg (Em’s manager) even said Em made a concious effort to return to radio after that shitty Relapse disc.

  46. killakev92 says:

    Food For Thought

  47. toad3527 says:

@ word eminem didnt chart well until this album? reallly? really? cause last time i checked (i only check the charts about 5 % of my month) his second and third album sold 9 and 8 million respectively, so i’m pretty sure that he was moving a lot more units then, not now..

and i dont know who janelle monae is

and jay electronica is not cold. well not in the bad sense. he cold on the mic tho…

  48. Chicago Hates You says:

Greeting Fellow Bitter, hating ass niggas,

Just so you know, I’ve never heard Chicago niggas playing Vado, Joell, Fab (Most niggas don’t even like saying his name), or Banks, though the Beamer Benz joint was a club exception.

    Until the next time,

    Hate-on Haters

  49. toad3527 says:

thx chicago, anyways back to hatin, you really do not remember eminem getting radio play? and you dont think all those albums he had back in the day were charting well?. really?

  50. Word says:

    @toad3527

Im talking SINGLES dummy. I didnt say albums, nigga I even said his first number one was lose yourself why would you think im talking about albums? He never charted well with SINGLES, thats why he didnt get RADIO PLAY, unless you live in a white neighbourhood…do you? Cuz in my arear, Eminem music on the radio was rare like @still best right now said.

And you dont know Janelle Monae? Wow. I think you need to look her up cuz her album was well received. Top 10 of this year so far.

  51. […] as Hip Hop editor at MTV News. While in the building, he chopped it up for close to two hours with RapRadar‘s YN and B. Dot about the always controversial Hottest MCs list, which is officially kicked […]

  52. wabz says:

they made 2010, honestly the true list should be :

10.bob (i don’t listen him but RR like him ^^)
9.bun b (good tracks but be careful don’t disrespect the memory of pimp c with weird featurings)
    8. banks (i’m not a g unit fan but banks did his things
    7. kanye (good summer, good friday, ye is back !)
    6. j cole (we waiting his album but his buzz is weak)
    5. cam & vado (dope music, funny videos, cam is here and vado is a problem)
    4. jigga (a few features and big shows but it disapointed me in signing wilow smith)
    3. em (just 4 the sales, because his music sucks, only white people listen him but i’m cool)
    2. drake (this year various artists had drake on featuring)
    1. rick ross (dope mixtape, dope album, dope single, dope summer, jeezy where you at ?

I THINK MY TOP 3 CAN BE IN THAT ORDER OR NOT BUT; EM, DRAKE & ROSS RUN THE RAP GAME THIS YEAR !!

  53. toad3527 says:

i live in seattle. is there a difference between urban radio and just regular radio? we have a station called kube 93 jams and it plays the absolute worst in top 40 hip hop. its favorites tend to be ja rule, nelly, t pain, akon, and T.I. However, the one person that is absolutely loves playing and has been playing for the past decade is eminem

  54. Belize says:

    @ ctg:
Aubrey & Onika more popular than Em? I ask again, what u on?
Em sold more than Aubrey and will sell more than Onika. Those bitched get tons more hate and are taken MUCH less seriously. Ask anyone. Em still on the news more.

  55. Word says:

    @toad3527

    “I live in Seattle..”

Lmao, that says it all right there.

  56. Thank Me Hater says:

Why the fuck is there a spaceship landing in the background in the beginning

  57. dmc says:

rick ross will be first just to Piss people off

  58. Thank Me Hater says:

This dude Shaheem needs to lose weight in a hurry! Cmon son the game needs you. We can’t have you clutching your chest while you’re giving us hip hop news

  59. toad3527 says:

I live in seattle wa i’m not seeing where you are going with that are you making fun of me because i live in seattle?

seattle wa not hood enough for you is that what you are saying?

wa baby the home of jamal crawford, kurt cobain, nate robinson jimi hendrix, brandon roy, pearl jam, jason terry, alice in chains, toad3527, where you from

  60. Thank Me Hater says:

@toad3527 yeah that reppin your hood shit is pretty stupid. I don’t care if you’re from outer mongolia…..you can still get your ass whipped

  61. Bish Get Off says:

    @Ctg

Nicki and Drake more popular than Em? Wake up boi. Em outselled Drake even tho the fish got that crazy hype, and Nicki ain’t got it yet. Rick Ross ain’t shit either owned by Recovery’s fifth week sales, singles didn’t chart well and don’t tell me that the streets got bangin’ ’cause only clowns listen to this fatass.

I can somewhat agree with Ye but c’mon his not the interesting figure in rap that’s just ur ass ridin’, and G.O.O.D Friday’s music sux only a coupla hot joints there, and you know that.

  62. Word says:

    @toad

Im saying, Seattle Washington is in the North West right? I figure, lots of white people right? The demand for Eminem in a predominately white neighbourhood is probably WAAY higher than in a predominantly black area like Baltimore, MD. Thats all im saying. Dont wanna place the race thing but you’d be stupid if you didnt think DEMOGRAPHICS didnt have something to do with Em getting more play in Seattle than in Baltimore. You follow me? I aint tryna confuse you..

  63. toad3527 says:

whatever i’m over it i hate eminem and i like jay electronica and these people that make this list like eminem and are not putting jay electronica on the list so i’m mad, i’m just a white kid from the burbs anyways but i like hip hop…

  64. Yeah Boi says:

i think toad has severe down syndrom tbh

  65. panda6112 says:

    1. Kanye- Dude’s number one because he’s just in so many things, he might not be the best “rapper” but he’s and all around guy. And even if he’s not the best rapper he ain’t no Soulja Boy
    2. Eminem- People claim Banks resurrected his career when Em really got his stuff together after Relapse which wasn’t a fail it just wasn’t what people were basically feigning for. Then when Recovery dropped, it just gave everyone what they wanted and then some.
    3. Jay- I’m not a big fan of Jay but he’s been hot for a while. Some claim he’s just ridin’ on his career but I think he’s just fittin’ in Hip Hop much better than he has in the past. Also he’s doing it big with all his business ventures and what-not.
    4. Lil Wayne- Wayne’s hot because he’s always out there. No Ceilings was straight fire, the whole Young Money thing wasn’t the best but it shows potential, I’m Not A Human being isn’t the hottest but it’s suppose to be a warm up for Tha Carter three which is my last point because I think that’s what is keeping him in the game. There’s not as much as anticipation as there was for Tha Carter 3 but people still be feingin.
    5. Nicki- She’s hot in so many ways. She can rap very nice, she’s go that image going where she can be elegant and clean but she can also get gritty and spit which is a good combo. I still remember when I heard Key Under Palm Trees when I knew she was gonna get her shine but I did not expect he would blow up like she did.
    6. Rick Ross- Big dude’s gotta be on here because as much as his credibility is in question he makes good music. When it comes down to it it’s all about making good quality music and Ross delivers. He’s grown since Hustlin’ but still sticks to what people want to hear from him and that gives him a lot over some other cats.
    7. Banks- This pick is really bias in my part. I’ve thought he was hot since Beg For Mercy. It’s just that he’s been in his shell for a while and it seems that he’s finally ready to step into the spotlight. Ironically, I think since he’s started pullin away from G- Unit a bit he’s been gettin some more recognition.
    8. Drake- The only reason I think he’s right below Banks is because on his album he stuck a little too much for himself and didn’t deliver to what the fans wanted. Now don’t get me wrong that album is hot, it’s just not what the fans wanted and that made him cool of a lli bit. It was a choice he had to make and I wasn’t bad it’s just a lesson in his career and I’m sure in the future he’ll deliver to his fans and be himself at the same time.
    9. Fab- Ever since Fab got on his “funeral music” stuff he’s been almost like Fab 2.0. He’s been nice for a while but never really stood out and with the funeral music with Drama and everything he got some heat behind him.
    10. Wiz Khalifa- I got to put him at number 10 because I see a lot of potential from him. I’ve been following Wiz since his early days when he didn’t rap about smoking weed and let me tell you he’s gone a long way since then. Yeah some people think he doesn’t have that variety but I think once he starts doing so collabs and starts diversifying his content, he’s going to get big. I don’t think he’ll reach top five but he can move up.

  66. ctg says:

    @Belize @Bish Get Off

Sales aren’t everything. “Fancy” is a hotter single than all of Em’s singles and Nicki represents the return of the mainstream female rapper. She brought excitement to the table. Em could be higher but he’s not in my opinion.

If you don’t like *MY* top 10 hottest mc’s list make your own gotdamn list.

  67. So Icy Boi! says:

I Dnt know why you mutha fukaz think Feminem should be number 1 ??? all he did was the same shit last year SALE records thats it..and he wasnt on the list last year…he got 2 number 1 POP songs if Eminem number one then B.o.B should of been number 2

  68. Thank Me Hater says:

The only person I could see being above Eminem on this list is Kanye real talk. Em currently has the top selling album, had the number one single for weeks, had 4 sellout concerts, had a segment on 60 minutes, nominated for every award (ama, grammies, mtv awards, bet hip hop award) etc…… cmon it’s a no brainer!!

  69. Thank Me Hater says:

@ctg Fancy is the worst song that’s ever been laid on wax!! End of story!! Everything else you said is arguable

  70. BIG CHUMP says:

    @Thank me hater

Cosign Fancy is hot garbage, i like show me a good time, and all night long and thats it

  71. Mr Xclusive says:

@E.P where the hell is weezy f aka the best rapper alive?

jesus christ your list is shit

  72. So Icy Boi! says:

@Thank Me Hater ….this list aint about record sales if thats the case Eminem should of been number 1 last year and he didnt make the list and had the be st selling hiphop album …why you talkin about concerts, 60 min, vma, shows ? this is not the forbes list ..its about features, hot songs thats the charts buzz….why would Kanye be higher than Drake and Rick Ross ??? name one Kanye single that was bigger than Drakes and Ross? ill wait …Kanye did not have hot song that was a big impact

  73. bstep says:

Yall are crazy. Like Em or not, he is running this game right now. Sales, chart-topping singles, 4 of the biggest concerts in rap history, his lyricism is at a level it hasnt been at in years, they guy is being nominated and winning awards left and right, dropping freestyles, interviewing like a madman, and lets not forget that he has killed every single feature hes been on since last years list. 78. Laura says:

Wow i noticed that the majority have Em and Kanye at 1or 2. so im just going to debate that since the rest is usually preference.

    EMINEM VS KANYE WEST

First of all, Kanye West uses internet more because he wants to be expose every time and is so cocky that he is the best(which is so not true). Also, he likes to be involve in public controversies that give hip-pop a bad name. Kanye is a good producer but he like Dr. Dre(Best Hip-Pop producer of ALL TIME!) he still lacks the rap skills. Its true that Kayne release dope tracks BEATS but it was not the same with the lyrics(he should hire a ghost writer!! ). Kanye is HOT because his constant use of the INTERNET, CONTROVERSIES(album art work which i personally think that his cover does not calibrate to NIRVANA’s reason in having it and people backing it up), and because he likes to be in the public eye ALL the time.

Now, Eminem does NOT like to be in the public eye just for fun, it is always album promotion related. That makes him the most conservative of all the MC out there and he only generates new fans from his ALBUM only. However, Eminem did step out from his box a little but not to the point where his face was everywhere. Eminem did have the whole media behind him because his album was a CLASSIC in its own way(but not like MMLP SSLP or TES). All his peers praised his comeback lyrically(relapse had good lyrics too but did not fit with the beats). Recovery did great on the album sales because it was a bit mainstream(pop/rock influence) yet it was backed up by his lyrics that no one alive can calibrate(ITS THE TRUTH WEATHER U HATE AT ADMIT IT!!)

So my point is this. Kanye is more popular but does not deserve to be called a MC. Why? He is only promoting himself as a celebrity not like a respectable MC. Eminem should be the #1 based on the content of his music, yet MTV will give to Kanye since he is more popular which in that case the list should be “Most Popular Hip-Pop Star.”

  79. Bgirl says:

I bet it’s ninety percent pop music. Sucka MCs

  80. Bgirl says:

Who’s this Eminem everyones talking about?

  81. jeeeeeezzer says:

  83. SlimeTime says:

At the end of the day this list is a sham.

  84. 9ja says:

@Laura, point of currection, kanye is not popular than Eminem,EM is d most popular hip hop artirts if not d most popular musician.

  85. MadMike says:

I dont care man…… Wacka Flocka is on your list your a str8 up dumb fuck. I would rather let a god damn turtle shit in my ear than be tortured with that fucking Fruity Loop beat, wanna be fucking hunk of dog shit that calls him self Flockaveli.

    Cmon son.

  86. Bish Get Off says:

    @Laura

Em’s more popular, go around the world and ask.

  87. Midnite! says:

Everybody has a list but in the end based on what these cats are basing it on the final verdict for #1 should be Em!He killed 2010!Thats just a fact!I hear cats riding Ross for the summer(i don’t like Ross)but,Em is owning the whole year!

  88. 9ja says:

Em should def b #1,Tell me who had a bigger year, not even those pop, rock, country, techno mudafucka’s could touch him,let alone these punk rapper’s.

  89. Laura says:

@9ja @Bish Get Off Don’t get me wrong Eminem is more popular as a musician but sadly he does not want to use the internet to the fullest like Kanye. Kanye is not a better musician he is more like a celebrity but the fact is that Kanye knows how to generate excitement for himself thus he manage to stay popular without the release of an album(and i think that is why he mange to get supporters). Personally, Eminem is a GOAT and no one alive can calibrate to that height.

  90. Zee says:

The list should be fucking empty. Nobody deserves to be on it. HIP HOP IS DEAD.

What we have now is just marketing and trap talk.

Couple young dudes might have a chance but most likely they’ll make some cash and stop putting out quality.
