Walmart Denies Kanye Album Cover Ban

Wednesday, October 20 2010 4:07 PM EST | Posted by: B.Dot | Posted in: Blog, True Story

A few days ago, Kanye said his album cover was banned from retail and implied that Walmart had a role in it.  EW reached out to the bargain chain and they said they never saw the artwork.

“We’re excited about Kanye West’s new album and we look forward to carrying it in our stores on November 22nd. As always, it’s our standard practice to carry the edited parental advisory version. We did not reject the cover artwork and it was never presented to us to view.”

Well, that’s strange. Shouldn’t matter anyway, on Monday, Ye said there will be five different covers for his album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

When Lil Wayne’s I Am Not A Human Being was released digitally on September 27th, it debuted at number two on the Charts and a week later, dropped to number 16. CyHi Da Prynce On “So Appalled” Verse

Wednesday, October 20 2010 12:43 PM EST | Posted by: Big Homie | Posted in: Blog, True Story

Sometimes if you want something done right, you got to do it yourself. CyHi tells Rap-Up how he sneaked his way to lay his verse down for “So Appalled”. G.O.O.D. move.

“I wasn’t supposed to be on ‘So Appalled’. People don’t know that. I kinda cheated. [Kanye] said, ‘Can you think of something to write on the hook?’ I peeped he was kinda sleepy at the time. So he went to sleep, went to the room or something. I stayed in the studio and I said I’m not gonna just do no hook. I’m gonna do my verse.”

I did a verse and didn’t tell him the verse was on there and I hid it. He was playing the album for some very important musicians and he played the song. He don’t know my verse is gonna come on and everybody in the room goes bananas. He said, ‘I gotta keep it.’”

J.Cole was booked at Rutgers University this past weekend and during his set, he brought out the MPC and created a beat. Try freestyling over that, rappers. Ha!
